Movie Review : "J. Edgar" - The Story behind one of the Most Powerful Man in History

I was never ever warned it would be a shocking film for me. I was really blown away by "J. Edgar." Given the dynamic team of Leonardo DiCaprio, Clint Eastwood, and Oscar-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, this is really an insightful look into the life of the first Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. I never expected it to be this kind of a movie!

The Story:

As the face of law enforcement in America for almost 50 years, J. Edgar Hoover was feared and admired, reviled and revered. But behind closed doors, he held secrets that would have destroyed his image, his career and his life. As the face of law enforcement in America for almost 50 years, J. Among other things, the story zigzags through that plot and the rise of the FBI fine enough as it is, though not as seamlessly and effectively as I would have expected.

The Characters:

The acting of Leonardo DiCaprio was stunningly amazing as he brought the whole drama to realism. Perhaps, he could even win some awards. DiCaprio and his co-star Armie Hammer was able to pull off it off with chemistry. Their portrayal was pretty good. Hoover (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) and Tolson (played by Armie Hammer) must hide their obvious romantic affections for each other, mainly down to Hoover’s choices, which are shown to be down to the overriding influence of his mother Anne Marie (Judi Dench)

Armie Hammer has the most notable performance in this movie and with much relief, has good chemistry with the Leonardo DiCaprio. Their relationship is summed up well by the story she tells Hoover about a local boy, with the nickname Daffy (‘short for Daffodil’), who shot himself. He’s used as an example because Anne Marie would rather have ‘a dead son than a daffodil for a son.’

Every tender moment between Clyde and Edgar, up until that scene in the hotel room where... they apparently adored the cariño brutal treatment. It's an apparent truth and yet I can observe only very rarely: as straight men are excited by girl-on-girl action, straight women are as equally excited by man-on-man action. Give or take a few open minds.

My Say:

Overall, I still say Leonardo DiCaprio deserves at least an Oscar nomination for this. He was quite good, but the movie as a whole lacked the oomph and punch that I expected of it. While the protagonist tried to rise up from adversity and personal issues, the film itself was struggling in places and couldn't really decide what it wanted to say beyond painting a profile.

"J.Edgar" is the type of film that can be more appreciated when watched in a movie house—most preferably in a crowded movie house because the audience response can boost its entertainment factor. There’s something about the audience’s collective response that will help you get more in touch with the film’s message and, of course, sustain your attention until the end credits.

The heart of the film is Hoover’s relationship with Tolson, which will surely spike your interest level. The movie was interesting to watch. I found myself immersed into the show curious about how his life went on.

February is not just about love and relationship, it's also for those people who wants to fly. Drifting through the skies, you look over the edge of the basket and your eyes are filled with the stunning landscape below you.

The "Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta" is an annual affair featuring an air show of hot-air balloons and several aviation events held at at the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) grounds within the Clark Special Economic Zone in Pampanga. It was first organized in 1994 to stimulate the local economy in Central Luzon, to encourage hot air ballooning as a sport locally and to promote the Philippines as a premier sport and tourist destination in Asia. It is now an extremely successful event at par with other international air shows and attracting thousands of spectators from all over.

The 2012 Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Clark, Pampanga attracts crowds of approximate 80,000 or more each year. So getting in the park early is the best option. Balloonists from all over the world came over to participate in this event. In addition to the flights of the hot air balloons the public was treated with other activities including micro light demonstration, small planes fly-bys, aerobatics, remote controlled scale model aerobatics, etc.

There are certain considerations to take note of when planning a hot air balloon trip. Hot air ballooning is greatly dependent on the weather as flying in fog, rain or strong winds can be dangerous. That is why most launches take place close to sunrise, before the day's thermals start rising. Wear comfortable clothes and practical shoes. You may also want to bring sunglasses and/or a hat. A camera is a must to record your wonderful experience.

It is and it will always be since it will be a wonderful parade of hundreds of colorful balloons coming from different countries across the globe. Aside from taking pictures, you can actually walk near the balloons and talk to the pilots who make these things glide across the Air Force City, DiosdadoMacapagal International Airport in Clark Field, Pampanga.

This 2012, the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta is celebrating it’s 17th year at the AFP grounds in Clark Freeport, Pampanga. There will be award ceremonies, and different attractions such as kite flying, paragliding, skydiving and of course the hot air balloons itself. Expected in this event are scores of colorful hot air balloons from all over the globe. Also expected during the event are other activities like light plane exhibition, sky diving exhibition, and a whole lot more.

It is not a one day event and you can experience first hand some of the attractions during the 2012 Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. There's a lot more to see this year according to the organizers. It is hard to pick one event to go to and it is best to try all.

Don’t miss out the opportunity to take photos of the colorful balloons during the glow events at dusk or dawn. The natural lighting creates a magical effect which makes it a no effort deal to capture great images.

Movie Review : "We Bought a Zoo"

I went into this film wanting to love it, and left feeling inspired, moved, and definitely loved it. This movie is based on a true story where Matt Damon plays as Benjamin Mee, a writer & recent widower after losing his wife to cancer. He is a father of two, a son Dylan (Colin Ford) and a daughter Rosie played by the irresistible Maggie Elizabeth Jones.

The Story:

Benjamin Mee (Matt Damon) has lost his wife and is seeking a better life for his two kids and himself. After his son is expelled from school, Damon finally gets serious and looks to relocate.

What he finds is an unusual situation. An old house, with lots of property, 9 miles from the nearest Target. The only catch: It is a Zoo. Not just a backyard Zoo either, a fully functioning Zoo with employees, exotic animals, and all the headaches, and financial problems, that come with it.

So with his brother’s rule of 20 seconds of insanity…he buys the house and the Zoo…employees and all. Their first task is to get the Zoo ready for an inspection so they can open by the summer.

The most beautiful woman in the world, Scarlett Johansson, is the zookeeper. She works constantly and has zero social life. You kinda know what happens….

The supporting cast of Thomas Duncan Mee (Haden Church), Dylan Mee (Colin Ford), the expressive Rosie Mee (Maggi Elizabeth Jones), the best actress in the Fanning family, Lily Miska (Elle Fanning) are all wonderful.

About the Movie:

"We Bought A Zoo" is a charming, funny, and seriously fantastic film that deserves at least some award consideration. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go give my dog a great big bear hug. Oh yes ladies and gentlemen, this IS one of those movies.

The Characters:

Everyone in this movie is at their A-game here.

Matt Damon plays the father figure of this film very well, knowing when to bring in harmless comedy and when to really be ticked off at his 14 year old son, played by the equally great young actor Colin Ford. The chemistry of the father and son stings of electric friction throughout the movie, but luckily brings it down to a mellow sunset towards the final 25 minutes.

Scarlett Johansson I would say is the least intriguing of the all-star cast, but she is still a very good love interest to Damon. The best actors/actresses of the film all come from the surprisingly stellar supporting cast.

Thomas Haden Church is simply hilariously awesome as Damon's divorced brother. Church is the true comedic relief in this movie, with almost every single bit of dialogue shed by him resulted in my screening's audience bursting into laughter.

A personal favorite character of the movie is Matt Damon's daughter, played by the sweet, charming, and hilarious newcomer Maggie Elizabeth Jones. She has some of the best lines in the entire flick, as well as the clichéd job of saying the film's title about two times. (Damon says it in the second to last scene) Elle Fanning is great as always playing Lily, the love interest of Colin Ford. Fanning brings a sweet girl-next-door type of character whose innocence really gives off a charm to the story.

John Michael Higgins is a great and very funny villain as the snooty inspector that has no faith in the zoo at all. Everyone else in the film, while their parts are small, all add something special to this wonderful movie.

My Take:

"We Bought A Zoo" is a great film for families and teens alike. There is sweet-as-corn comedy, heavy/believable drama, and a charm that pulls you in by the end of the first hour. Everything about this film makes you feel warm inside, yet also makes you teary eyed during some of the dramatic moments. Truthfully – this is a movie that will warm your heart and have you leaving the theater with a big ol’ smile on your face, and those happy tears in the corner of your eyes. You know guys what I mean.

This movie was fantastic. I loved everything about it. Matt Damon played an amazing father and I was in love with the little girl who played his daughter. This movie, was emotional, but also had it's hilarious parts. I suggest going to see it, cute family movie!

"We Bought A Zoo" opens January 18 in Philippine theaters from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

When it comes to love and religion, what's your stand?

How do couples/lovers of different religious or spiritual

backgrounds and beliefs build a healthy,

respectful marriage or partnership together?

This answer is going to be different for each couple/lovers as every relationship is unique.

This show opens with the cacophony of a car crash and spends half of its scenes in a hospital waiting room, "Next Fall" is a surprisingly funny exploration of the nature of love and faith. The play alternates between scenes set in the waiting room of a hospital, where Luke is in a coma after being hit by a taxi, and vignettes that trace in flashbacks the evolving and sometimes tenuous relationship of Luke, a young actor, and the 40-ish Adam.

Adam also decides that now is a perfect time to assault the religious beliefs that are giving everyone comfort. He takes even the smallest mention of faith as provocation. This would almost be forgivable as a conceit if the conversations that resulted were at all balanced.

What “Next Fall” is very good at doing is prompting the discussions in the audience that the characters seem incapable of having onstage.

The characters:

The characters in “Next Fall” — including Adam (Bart Guingona) and Luke (David Bianco), the odd couple at the play’s center. In the hands of these actors, the characters never feel like fictional creations but like real people, endearing and infuriating, and when their time in the spotlight comes to an end, you wish you could stick around and get to know them better.

My Take:

Not everyone will relate to the homosexual relationship and not everyone will relate to the various religious stances held by the characters in the play, "Next Fall." What everyone will relate to, however, is the common denominator of religion in our lives and how it influences our views. That is why this is not just your ordinary gay-love story. When a play presents two gay lovers, one Christian and the other atheist, the audience may lick its lips for a meaty philosophical debate with a modern twist. This play was said to disguise as a tragedy about two men with irreconcilable views of the world, “Next Fall” has nothing to do with God or science.

All that said, there’s a whole lot to love here. Seriously, holy crap, you should see “Next Fall.” You’re not gonna find a funnier, sweeter, more exasperating play in town right now.

The play will be staged at the Onstage, Greenbelt 1 in Makati City on January 13 – February 5, 2012 and it was directed by veteran theater actor and director Audie Gemora.

Movie Review : "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows"

The first Sherlock Holmes movie pulled off a surprise with its interesting yet different take of the legendary character. While some viewers disapproved the movie's portrayal of Holmes, it still managed to win the hearts of the general audience thanks to remarkable performances and fun dynamics from the cast.

This time around "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" introduces Holmes' greatest adversary: Professor James Moriarty, which automatically raises the stakes and expectations. The movie is definitely larger in scale but it was bogged down by not giving an essential element of the story the treatment it deserves.

The Story:

In 1891, Irene Adler (Rachel McAdams) delivers a package to Dr. Hoffmanstahl—payment for a letter he was to deliver. Hoffmanstahl opens the package, triggering a hidden bomb which is prevented from detonating by the intervention of Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey, Jr.). Holmes takes the letter and disposes of the bomb while Adler and Hoffmanstahl escape. Holmes later finds Hoffmanstahl assassinated. Adler meets with Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris) to explain the events, but Moriarty poisons her—deeming her position compromised by her love for Holmes.

Some time later, Dr. Watson (Jude Law) arrives at 221B Baker Street, where Holmes discloses that he is investigating a series of seemingly unrelated murders, terrorist attacks, and business acquisitions, that he has connected to Moriarty. Holmes meets with the gypsy Simza (Noomi Rapace), the intended recipient of the letter he had taken from Adler, sent by her brother Rene. Holmes defeats an assassin sent to kill Simza, but she flees before Holmes can interrogate her. After Mary (Kelly Reilly) and Watson's wedding, Holmes meets Moriarty for the first time. Moriarty informs Holmes that he murdered Adler and will kill Watson and Mary if Holmes' interference continues.

Moriarty's men attack Watson and Mary on a train to their honeymoon. Holmes, having followed the pair for protection, throws Mary from the train into a river below where she is picked up by Holmes' waiting brother Mycroft (Stephen Fry). After defeating Moriarty's men, Holmes and Watson travel to Paris to locate Simza. When she is found, Holmes tells Simza that she has been targeted because Rene is working for Moriarty, and may have told her about his plans. Simza takes the pair to the headquarters of an anarchist group to which she and Rene had formerly belonged. They learn that the anarchists have been forced to plant bombs for Moriarty.

The trio follows Holmes's deduction that the bomb is in the Paris Opera. However, Holmes realizes too late that he has been tricked and that the bomb is in a nearby hotel; the bomb kills a number of assembled businessmen. Holmes discovers that the bomb was a cover for the assassination of Meinhart—one of the attendees—by Moriarty's aide, Sebastian Moran (Paul Anderson). Meinhart's death grants Moriarty ownership of Meinhart's weapons factory in Germany. Holmes, Watson, and Simza travel there, following clues in Rene's letters.

At the factory, Moriarty captures and tortures Holmes, while Watson is under sniper fire from Moran. Moriarty reveals that he owns shares in multiple war-profiting companies, and intends to instigate a world war to make himself a fortune. Meanwhile, Watson uses the cannon he had been hiding behind to destroy the lighthouse in which Moran is concealed. The structure collapses into the warehouse where Moriarty is holding Holmes captive. Watson, Simza, and an injured Holmes reunite and escape aboard a moving train. Holmes deduces that Moriarty's final target will be a peace summit in Switzerland, creating an international incident.

At the summit, Holmes reveals that Rene is the assassin and that he is disguised as one of the ambassadors—having been given radical reconstructive surgery by Hoffmanstahl to alter his appearance. Holmes and Moriarty, who is also in attendance, retreat outside to discuss their competing plans. Watson and Simza find Rene and stop his assassination attempt, but Rene is himself silenced by Moran. Outside, Holmes reveals that he previously replaced Moriarty's personal diary that contained all his plans and financing with a duplicate. The original was sent to Mary in London who decrypted the code and cypher using the the information on the board and a book that Holmes had noticed in Moriarty's office during their first meeting. Mary passes the information to Inspector Lestrade (Eddie Marsan) who seizes the bulk of Moriarty's assets, financially crippling him. Holmes and Moriarty anticipate an impending physical confrontation, and both realize Moriarty would win due to Holmes' injured shoulder. Holmes instead grapples Moriarty and forces them both over the balcony and into the Reichenbach waterfall below.

Their bodies are not found. Following Holmes' funeral, Watson and Mary prepare to have their belated honeymoon when Watson, who is now writing the last few lines from "The Final Problem", receives a package containing a breathing device of Mycroft's that Holmes had noticed before the summit. Realizing that Holmes is still alive, Watson leaves his office to find the delivery man. Holmes, having concealed himself in Watson's office, reads a fresh eulogy on Watson's typewriter and adds a question mark after the words "The End".

About the movie:

"Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" opens on a strong note with a fun-that-became-intense-later-on sequence which involves Irene Adler (Rachel McAdams). That particular sequence explains why the main female character of the previous installment has a small, albeit important, role in this sequel.

The opening sets up the movie's tone quite well but it took quite a time to establish the threat and what is at stake. It's actually alright for them to take that approach since the main character is a detective after all but unfortunately that's the part where the movie hit a snag.

The usual content is here, just like the original: Frequent and very intense action violence, some grisly images of dead bodies, one very crude scene containing brief nudity, frequent drinking, smoking and one drug reference.

There's not much detective work in this story and the movie just conveniently situated set pieces for it to progress. Sure, we still see a glimpse of Holmes' brilliant mind like the way he anticipates every blow of a fight before the first punch is thrown or the tactics he used to take the bad guys down unwittingly by themselves but it all felt too studied and forced. Moriarty's “evil plan” is not compelling as well and it was evident in the middle of the story in which the movie struggled in keeping a narrative momentum.

Though the fight scenes are very choreographed and stylized, they're bone-crunching and often brutal. And the slo-mo effects sometimes make the anticipation of the impact almost worse than the impact itself. Knives, guns, and bombs are all in use; there's also one scene of torture and a suicide. There's also a fair bit of innuendo, one scene of a naked man from behind, some mild language ("bastard" and "damn), pipe smoking, and social drinking.

Lots of humor. Heavy at times, especially in the beginning. Definitely entertaining for the older teen and adult.

The Characters:

Robert Downey and Jude Law still carried the movie very well and their actions and banter are always a delight to watch. The casting of Jarred Harris as Moriarty was also perfect. Harris did a great job and exudes menace effortlessly without going over the top. The “chess showdown” between Moriarty and Holmes in the last act was riveting and almost made up for the movie's shortcomings.

Also a standout is Stephen Fry who played Holmes' brother Mycroft as he managed to make his short scenes shine. McAdams presence is missed here and Rapace didn't leave that much of an impression which is not her fault since the character she played is weakly-conceived.

The relationship between Holmes and Dr. Watson, which I loved since in the first film, is better delineated here, as one actually senses their mutual affection, even as Watson prepares to leave his adventurous friend behind to embark upon married life.

My Take:

Ultimately "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" is very entertaining movie with its good cast and polished production making it worth the watch but the lack of inquisitive detective work takes the movie down the level of a typical action flick only set in the 19th century and that's quite a shame because "Sherlock Holmes" stories should be more than that.

It’s certainly lively and has clever moments that involve Holmes’ keen powers of observation, and his ability to think his way out of sticky situations.

Movie Review : "Alvin and The Chipmunks 3: Chipwrecked"

The "Alvin and the Chipmunks" movie franchise had been very successful in the box office but is not well-received by the critics. "Alvin and the Chipmunks 3: Chipwrecked" does nothing new to elevate the material and continues to deliver more of the same.

The Story:

The Chipmunks and The Chipettes (three female counterparts to the Chipmunks) go on a cruise vacation trip with the Chipmunks' owner/manager/father figure, Dave Seville (Jason Lee) aboard the Carnival Dream cruise ship. During the cruise, the Chipmunks and Chipettes turn the ship into their personal playground, causing trouble and running amuck as they will. Eventually, their chaotic behavior gets them ship wrecked on a desert island, everyone getting lost in the process. As Dave sets out to look for the lost chipmunk trios, the six find a new castaway named Zoe (Jenny Slate) on the island who turns out to be more than a match for the trios.

About the movie:

But it was a formula that was supported in droves by the audience, so people who enjoyed the first two movies will like this one and while giving those didn't like it no reason to give this franchise another look. The story, based on the characters created by Ross Bagdasarian and Janice Karman, is wafer-thin. The screenplay (by Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger), and the dialogues salvage the film to an extent and make it worth watching, especially for the kids, who may enjoy the antics of the chipmunks.

The dialogues are witty and reflect emotions which the kids in the audience will relate to. But there’s little in the film for the grown-ups. Although this is probably to entertain the parents who have been dragged to watch this film, I think it would be better to warn them that there is a older content weaved into this furry, family film.

But on the “cute” aspect, Chipwrecked certainly delivered from the showstopping numbers of Katy Perry and Lady GaGa hits to the various shenanigans in the cruise ship and the island. Regardless of your overall view of the movies, only those with a heart of stone will not fall for Theodore's cuteness.

The went on an adventure while they perform pop songs from time to time. It goes the same to the Chippettes who all basically mirrors the personalities of their male counterparts. The movie did somehow shake things up with Alvin learning about responsibility and Simon loosening up. But in the end, the story does not offer that much excitement or insight despite the premise as the movie just coasts along until we reach the conclusion.

Jason Lee and David Cross are good actors and while they are still not used to their fullest potential, they do deliver good enough performances as opposed to Jenny Slate who played Zoe terribly. David Cross is fine as Ian, while Jenny Slate does an average job as the girl who meets the chipmunks on the island.

My Take:

"Alvin and The Chipmunks 3: Chipwrecked" is basically just fluff but it's all pretty harmless. If you loved the first two, you will surely love this 3rd installation.

With the cinema nearly packed out with a mixture of children and adults, I knew this film was going to be a big hit with the younger generation. Giggles, gasps and sighs were to be heard throughout the cinema.

In my opinion this film was better than the ‘Squeakquel’ which followed the first film. ‘Chipwrecked’ has more of a storyline although it nicks ideas from Tom Hanks’ "Cast Away."

Facing the 2012 with all the positiveness in life!

I’ve been pondering some resolutions for 2012, but I haven’t made any commitments. It seems I have a bad track record with huge statements made in public meant to pressure me into making changes. I always seem to keep track of my resolutions though, and I feel the heart curling shame they inflict on my conscience when I don’t keep them. So, this year I ain’t making any! Haha!

I am thankful for 2011 for giving me the best bloggers and making them my friends. I am looking for more bloggers to come this 2012.

I will forget all the worries and leave all the sadness happened on 2011. I will also delete all the people who made me cry. Make this day: "New"day. "New"morning. "New"hopes. "New"plans. "New"efforts. "New"success. "New"feelings. I pray to God... Thank You for giving us a "new year" to celebrate life with you, with our friends and love ones. Guide us for the new year and help us to be a wiser person.

Let us all welcome 2012 with a positive outlook in life - that all negativities will only be as much as a prick in our finger and the good things are expected as blessings from God who loves us. This 2012, let us welcome the year full of happiness and think all the positive thoughts. Just always remember those people who made you smile and was always there for all the time throughout the year.

This 2012, I want to focus more on the things that I need to do to in order to take better care of myself. I believe that on the inside of us we have all of the tools that we need in order to live an amazing life.

"ASAP" is still my first love I can't resist!

I was one of the few lucky people who was invited to watch the stellar taping for the Christmas episode of "ASAP Rocks." Well, it's not my first time but it feels like it's always my first time when I'll be watching this kind of shows.

Maybe I have seen and interviewed some of them during their album launching or simple dinner/lunch, but seeing them live on stage is totally different. With me watching the taping are the award-winning U-Bloggers - Pusang Kalye, Rocky Batara, Cuteberl, Kumagcow, Flow Galindez, my blogging family and I am proud to be one! I am so happy that I am one of these people who watched this live!

Nothing to prove, "ASAP" is already ASAP since it started the musical-variety show on ABS-CBN. Maybe you can see my tweets on Twitter that I am supporting its rival program, well that's true. But I can't deny that "ASAP" is my first love and and I can't resist falling inlove with my first love. Now you know why!

Every year, they are getting better and better in terms of creativity and artistry with an added x-factor to catapult ABS-CBN artists to be more extravagant. I want to congratulate Teacher Georcelle (of G-Force) for the dancers' growth this year! I am also impressed by their performances- just maintain the growth and think outside of the box by the choreo, dj and dancers.

This is not my first experience on a musical-variety show like this, but what makes this a great experience? ABS-CBN has the best courteous guards! I have to say that here I met with polite and courteous guards. All their staff are so accommodating and very lovable and they assisted us well. What great about being a live audience at "ASAP" is their jester. I love this comedian (I still don't know his name) which keeps on talking during breaks!

All I can say is... If you want to see lots of stars, go to "ASAP!" You will surely enjoy the performances of your favorite stars plus experience their heartwarming smiles to the live audience! Their show is so much organized and they've got alot of stars and singers, a great contributing factor to make a show more lively.

I really am an "ASAP baby" and that's a fact! It is undeniable that the show is designed to provide us the total entertainment - enjoyment and satisfaction of the fans. Watching "ASAP" feels like home to me. It's the variety show I've been watching since I was a kid. I grew up watching this with my family.

The meanings of Christmas are many. How brightly they blend into our lives as we share something special all across the miles and years. One of the things that I love about Christmas is seeing the kids with their bright eyes and happy smiles. I am a ninong (godfather) of 5 children,

My family will celebrate Christmas in Mindoro, our hometown with my Mommy, Ate and Kuya and of course, my brother in law. My sister is 6-months pregnant, this makes this Christmas very special. We will still miss the presence of our Daddy. Sigh! Wherever you are Daddy, I love you so much. I hope you are in heaven now.

I love Christmas because there's plenty of chocolates, candies and all the foods served are all dilicious. I love the wonderful feeling of receiving Christmas cards and gifts from friends in far away places. In fact, I still have with me a box full of cards that I have received all these years. I always love to collect them especially the love letters. And I love hearing and singing Christmas carols make my heart sings. I also love Christmas because of its commercialism, optimism in the face of really bad (but sometimes romantic) weather, presents, food and also as an excuse to party! And I want to add.... the decorations wherever I go!

The victims on "Bagyong Sendong" need help!

Cagayan de Oro City, along with other nearby towns and cities got stormed by Bagyong Sendong last night. It was just an ordinary day yesterday when it rained. It just seemed like an ordinary drizzle because usually, we only get downpour that lasts for about 3-6 hrs/day.

that broke my heart into pieces.

Bagyong Sendong left our brothers and sisters in Mindanao and other affected areas in a state of devastation. This made me felt sad upon looking the victim pictures of typhoon sendong hit down particularly in Northern Mindanao. Movie Review - Mission Impossible : Ghost Protocol

Sixteen years on from the first big screen revival, this largely gripping fourth instalment in Tom Cruise's action franchise is still taking its cues from the original TV show. Like the original film in the "Mission: Impossible" franchise, part four focuses more on the group dynamic of the "Impossible Missions Force" agents rather than solely on the Ethan Hunt character, played once more by Tom Cruise. Hunt is joined by fellow agents Jane Carte (Paula Patton) and Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg), who previously appeared in the third film, and analyst William Brandt (Jeremy Renner).

The Story

The movie starts with a clever jailbreak by Cruise's Ethan Hunt, stuck in a Moscow prison for reasons unexplained until late in the story, then serves up an opening-credit montage fondly reminiscent of the old Mission: Impossible TV show.

Once free, Ethan is dispatched to infiltrate the Kremlin along with Impossible Missions Force agents Jane Carter (Patton) and Benji Dunn (Pegg). But it's all a setup by madman Kurt Hendricks (Michael Nyqvist), who sets off a devastating explosion at the Kremlin to cover his theft of a Russian nuclear launch device and manages to finger Ethan's team for the blast.

With U.S.-Russian tension at its worst since the Cuban missile crisis, the threat that's always hung over the IMF team comes to pass: the secretary (Tom Wilkinson) disavows knowledge of their actions, leaving Hunt and his comrades on their own as they try to clear their names and stop Hendricks from instigating nuclear war.

Joining them is Wilkinson's aide, William Brandt (Renner), a guy who takes to field work a little too easily to be the desk-jockey analyst he claims he is.

Cruise looks shaggy, and sure, we could blame his bad haircut on the fact that Ethan's just out of prison. But it doesn't help an aging screen idol to look so unkempt; the Mission: Impossible world routinely defies reality, so would it have been so far-fetched for Ethan to stop by a salon before heading back into action?

What Cruise does on screen is pretty much the same-old. Ethan runs, Ethan leaps, Ethan bashes faces, Ethan violates traffic laws, Ethan runs some more. Cruise has two main modes in his acting repertoire: flash that thousand-watt smile or play the stone-face, and he mostly does the latter here, so honestly, Ethan's not all that interesting when he's standing still and talking.

That work ethic of Cruise, though, shows in every one of the spectacular action moments. For the climb up Dubai's 2,700-foot Burj Khalifa skyscraper, the filmmakers claim they had planned to re-create part of the building's exterior and have Cruise scale it on a safe soundstage. But Cruise wanted to climb the real thing, so much of the sequence was filmed with him harnessed to the building more than 1,000 feet up.

The Movie

His action scenes are clean, coherent, thrilling, and visceral, never more than in a mid-film sequence in Dubai that piles setpiece atop setpiece as the action moves in, around, up, and down the Burj Khalifa skyscraper—the tallest building in the world. If you have the slightest fear of heights, grip the arm rests tightly and press both feet flatly to the floor during Cruise's attempt to scale the world's tallest building; even safe in your seat, an unnerving feeling of vertigo is bound to result as you stare down from the 130th floor. This is one the best part of the movie is during the task Ethan took up in Dubai where they showed him being “Spiderman” on the world’s tallest building Burj Khalifa.

Most interesting about this latest "Mission: Impossible film" is the frequency in which technology fails at the critical moment.

The characters are likeable and developed, the scenarios are complex without feeling ridiculous and the action is engaging. One more I can say is - "Pegg is Pegg", the comic relief who adds some decent chuckles.

"Ghost Protocol" ends with a talky epilogue that feels tacked-on and trite, though it offers a couple of cameos from Mission past.

The Gandiva Cafe and Archery Range is located at the 7th Floor, One Corporate Center Building, Julia Vargas corner Meralco Avenue, which offers a delightful selection of healthy, vegetarian dishes for health enthusiasts and a practice and training ground for budding archery practitioners.

They called us in a bloggers event one rainy Friday night and they offered us to try the veggie pizza, veggie burger and the pesto. The slice of veggie pizza was light, with a veggie meat ham and other veggie trimmings laid into it although i wish they should have served more of this as a thin slice don’t really bite the taste palette much. Actually, this is my first time to try this vegetarian dishes, and in all fairness, I loved it!

What makes me love the dishes served to us on the event, is the feeling that it's not a "fake" one. I mean, especially the burger, is even closer to the texture and taste of a real burger (with meat/beef patty).

The pizza slice was yummyand definitely tastes good. I am not particular with the taste of pesto (because I haven't tried eating it yet) but I liked what they served me. The atmosphere was clean and airy. Service was the best! Friendly staff. A big 5 star from our party! Had a delicious dinner with great bloggers, and we'll definitely go again. Everything was fresh, fairly priced & nicely portioned. We didn't order anything without exclaiming that we'd have to have it again.

Gandiva Archery Range

Archery is a fun and relaxing hobby that men and women of all ages can enjoy. Archery is a quiet, solitary sport that can be competitive or non, and doesn't require a whole lot of physical fitness or skill when you are first starting out. Plus, you are filled with a great sense of satisfaction when you release your arrow, hear it hit the target, and then see that you actually hit what you were aiming for.

Gandiva Archery is open to the public and offers lessons ranging from beginner’s to advanced.

This is my first time to try this kind of sports and I liked it! Many thanks to the one who assisted me for his patience and help in getting myself and some others started in the world of archery! I love his comments and insights have really made a difference to us in building our confidence and we are now seriously looking at taking the next steps.

For me the one who assisted me has taken archery from something that I always wanted to do - to something I will never stop doing! If you are thinking of taking up archery I would highly recommend booking in this place and you will not regret it.

Gandiva Archery Range and Café started because the founders and owners, a family of archery enthusiasts loved the famous Mahabharata and particularly adored the story about Arjuna and the celestial bow Gandiva. Thus, they put up their first ever archery store on 2008 at SM Mall of Asia in memory of the mighty bow Gandiva.

Together with DepEd’s efforts in promoting archery on a grass-root level, we at Gandiva support Archery, a long time Olympic sport by providing technical skill and training ranges as well as sponsoring archery events among the youth. Movie Review: The Lion King returns to theaters in 3D

The 1994 Disney classic, The Lion King, returned to the big screen for a release in 3D. The Disney Magic is still present in The Lion King, a story about a lion (the King of the Jungle) who has to struggle with his self-identity before he finally finds it.

We will put on our 3D glasses and immersed ourselves in a world of colorful nostalgia for our youth. We must go to see this movie put me right back into the prime of our childhood. I was again looking forward to my favorite lines and the song "Hakuna Matata." Yes, there’s a lot of history in all our lives that revolves around The Lion King. If there’s one Disney movie that touched generations, it’s this one. Hakuna matata, anyone? Do you agree with me guys? Haha!

This is the synopsis:

A young lion prince is born in Africa, thus making his uncle Scar the second in line to the throne. Scar plots with the hyenas to kill King Mufasa and Prince Simba, thus making himself King. The King is killed and Simba is led to believe by Scar that it was his fault, and so flees the kingdom in shame. After years of exile he is persuaded to return home to overthrow the usurper and claim the kingdom as his own thus completing the "Circle of Life".

Many people already know the tale of young Simba and his father, Mufasa, king of Pride Rock. Scar, Simba's uncle, kills his older brother to become king and tells Simba to run away. Simba flees to the jungle and ends up with two unlikely friends who help him realize his place as the King of Pride Rock.

"The Lion King" is primarily about guilt and redemption. Simba, a young lion cub and heir to his father's throne, is led to believe that he was the cause of the king's death. The trauma caused by this is so great that Simba goes into exile, attempting to find peace-of-mind through anonymity in the company of a warthog and a meerkat. But it's never that easy to escape the past.

Many of the people who flocked to the theater went to enjoy a reboot of one of their favorite Disney movies. Growing up in the ‘90s, everyone had their favorite Disney movie and this limited re-release gave people a chance to remember why they loved this one.

More than the story and the songs in the movie, I like more this film because of the quotable quotes from the loveley characters in the movie. Here they are (Most of them are from Mufasa, Simba's father):

"The Lion King" is a timeless movie that transcends generations. It is a tale about survival, betrayal, importance of family and love. It is a tale that ought to stay with us every day of our life. It is a movie that doesn’t shy away from hurt – even if it is masked often by protective parents and their explanations. "The Lion King" is a movie for the ages. And we are lucky we happened to be those ages. "The Lion King" is still a true generational film! "The Lion King” has stood test of time and remains just as spectacular as it did back in 1994.

"What is the role of religious faith in our lives – how it can both unite and divide us?"

This is question that entered in my mind when I finally saw the preview of the first offering of Repertory Philippines for 2012, the "Next Fall". Yes, I was invited by Repertory Philippines last December 6, 2011 (Tuesday) for the rehearsals of the "Next Fall" where I was able to see some of the

I am so glad I finally got to see this play "Next Fall", that Flow Galindez has been telling me for so many times. He is so much excited for this play actually. That is why I am so glad that I was one of the chosen bloggers to see the preview of this play.

PLOT:

"Next Fall" was written by playwright Geoffrey Nauffts. It is a very moving story of Luke and Adam, a gay couple agonizing over differences in their religious faiths. The play portrays the ups and downs of this unlikely couple’s five-year relationship with sharp humor and unflinching honesty. And when an accident changes everything, Adam must turn to Luke’s family and friends for support and answers. "Next Fall" paints a beautiful and funny portrait of modern romance, asking the hard questions about commitment and faith. But ultimately, simply, it is about the transformative power of love.

As you can see, part of it is a love story between two gay men and their differing religious beliefs in addition to the friends and family around them that are woven into a beautifully written script.

I a so much excited to see this play on January 13, 2011 at On Stage theater, Greenbelt 1 because as I can see, this play is simple, beautiful, and really moving; even though I just only saw some of the scenes of this play. You will really notice here the obvious and witty dialogue from the usual roll-call of gay characters - the ditsy mom, the distant father and the brooding best friend.

Not everyone will relate to the homosexual relationship and not everyone will relate to the various religious stances held by the characters in the play, "Next Fall." What everyone will relate to, however, is the common denominator of religion in our lives and how it influences our views. That is why this is not just your ordinary gay-love story.

When a play presents two gay lovers, one Christian and the other atheist, the audience may lick its lips for a meaty philosophical debate with a modern twist. This play was said to disguise as a tragedy about two men with irreconcilable views of the world, “Next Fall” has nothing to do with God or science.

"Next Fall" is not just your ordinary gay love story. It is also about how people exaggerate the importance of those oppositions and sacrifice love in the process, but it is also about learning the lesson that while next fall might never come, the certainty of the here and now can (and will) suffice. 6 Days to go before my Birthday : What to do?

It's 6 days more to go and it's going to be my birthday! I still have no plans yet... (1st) because I don't have enough money and (2nd) I don't know what to do. I was actually supposed to post this starting for the 30days, but I completely forgot to do it. Better late than never, I am officially sharing my promise to myself.

Birthdays are special to me and even if I am not anymore a child where parties and balloons matter, I am still excited for every birthdays that will come in my life. An added year in my life is a blessing and a great opportunity to enjoy life and the things God has given me.

Just like every year, I will be alone for my birthday. I'll be thinking about the things happened to me the previous years. Just like reminiscing the past.

This year, I am going to take it super seriously! Ok, I lie, I am not going to take it that seriously. Haha! Anyways, I am happy with my life right now... No, actually, I am expecting to receive special gifts on my birthday that's why I am posting this as a reminder for you guys to think about your birthday presents to me. The Movie

"The Road"is a great example of a thriller-suspense filled, psychologically film that youshould watch. I can say that there is this mystery that we as the viewers haveto figure out. This movie clearly is one of the best movies that I have everseen – providing a totally different approach to a horror-thriller-crime genre.What's amazing about this movie is that it lets you know who is this killerright from the start, but then, here’s the twist – what if what you’re seeing10 years ago is totally different now?

The Actors

I was impressed with the acting of Carmina Villaroel, Rhian Ramos, Barbie Forteza, Marvin Agustin, TjTrinidad, Ynna Asistio, Derrick Monasterio, Lexi Fernandez, Louise Delos Reyesand Alden Richards. They created likable, interesting charactersthat you can believe in. The acting by everyone involved is very believable andthat makes it quite harrowing at points. I don't want to give away a singlething about the story but what I can say is that it’s an absolutely one of themost brilliant twist on a story that has been done.

Alden Richardsplays here the role of a psycho killer. This boy-next-door stepped up into abetter character of an abductor and a psycho killer. You will really amaze onhow this cutie shows his emotions on acting even without a single word.

On the other hand, every scenewith Carmina Villaroel adds moreshivers up my spines. Even when she has no prosthetics in the movie, just aplain character being the mother of RenzValerio, who played the young AldenRichards, you will feel very scared with her role. Carmina is truly one of PhilippineTV’s important gems when it comes to acting prowess.

My Say

More than the acting of theactors here and the stuff, one great thing that adds to this movie is theattack of the movie. It’s not just the typical ghost horror story that thrillseveryone. Direk Laranas promises totreat moviegoers to a fresh new approach to horror.

“Nakakatuwa nga kasi meronkaming listahan ng mga eksenang hindi na dapat isama sa pelikula kasi gasgasna: yung mga tipong hinihila sa ilalim ngkama, yung may tatapik sa likod motapos paglingon mo kaibigan mo lang pala, etc. Sabi ko, ‘pag walang kinalaman sa istorya, wag na nating ilagay.’ Kasiyung audience –lalo na yung mga mahihilig sa horror – alam na nila lahat ‘yane. Hindi mo sila mabobola. At feeling ko nakakahiya sa audience kung angipapakita mo sa kanila ay ang mga bagay na napanood na nila,” Laranas said.

The set location was shot in Teresa, Rizal. According to thedirector, the location is very cinematic and it’s actually the first time thatit was used as a location for a film. I commend also the Swedish composer Johan Soderqvist who is assigned forthe musical scoring of the movie. The musical scoring adds more

Kudos to Yam Laranasand the staff, for bringing us this seriously difficult project and turning itinto one of the cleverest movies today. This movie is anything you want it tobe; glossy and superficial, or deep and meaningful. You will surely scream withall your heart out!

So, go to the theater near you, gather your popcorn, andjust remember that you may not be alone when you do... Or just dare yourself towatch the movie, alone! If you enjoy serious drama, investigation films, serialkillers, great acting, you'll definitely enjoy this movie. This is a must watchfor this season! "The Road"will surely scare the moviegoers nationwide beginning November 30, 2011!

World AIDS Day is a global celebration where we look back on all that's been accomplished for those that are infected and affected by HIV, as well as look forward to what more we need to do. On World AIDS Day, we pay tribute to the millions of people living with HIV/AIDS in the Philippines and around the world, and the millions of people who have been tested for HIV.

Let us support and participate in the various activities of our respective organizations, sectors, and communities to mark World AIDS Day 2011 to help increase awareness of the HIV and AIDS conditions as well as contribute to an intensified campaign for the prevention and proper treatment of these conditions.

We are all living with HIV-- but like these celebritiesand prominent figures of society, we can cometogether and do something to stop the rise of theepidemic in the country. Join and blow the red whistle.

Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) estimate that around 33 million people worldwide have been infected with HIV and that around two million each year die from AIDS-related conditions. In view of this, the United Nations General Assembly on October 27, 1988, officially recognized December 1, 1988, as World AIDS Day. This year’s World AIDS campaign focuses on “Zero AIDS Related Deaths’’ to stimulate a “push toward greater access to treatment for all’’ without discrimination.

Why should I take the HIV test?

The following are behaviors that increase your chances of getting HIV. If you answer yes to any of them, you should definitely get an HIV test. If you continue with any of these behaviors, you should be tested every year. Talk to a health care provider about an HIV testing schedule that is right for you.

Have you injected drugs or steroids or shared equipment (such as needles, syringes, works) with others?Have you had unprotected vaginal, anal, or oral sex with men who have sex with men, multiple partners, or anonymous partners?
Have you exchanged sex for drugs or money?Have you been diagnosed with or treated for hepatitis, tuberculosis (TB), or a sexually transmitted disease (STD), like syphilis?
Have you had unprotected sex with someone who could answer yes to any of the above questions?

If you have had sex with someone whose history of sex partners and/or drug use is unknown to you or if you or your partner has had many sex partners, then you have more of a chance of being infected with HIV. Both you and your new partner should get tested for HIV, and learn the results, before having sex for the first time.

"Ang Babae sa Septic Tank" is Cinemalaya 2011's Best Film and is one of 63 films vying for the Best Foreign Language Film award in the 84th Academy Awards (Oscars). This is Philippines' entry to the Oscars!

Synopsis
Director Rainier (Kean Cipriano), Producer Bingbong, and Production Assistant Jocelyn set out to make a gritty, realistic, award-winning independent film about a woman who, out of poverty, decides to sell one of her seven children to a pedophile. Along the course of the movie, they met with an arrogant director with gaps in his knowledge, the actress who they want to play Mila the lead role of their movie, Eugene Domingo (who plays herself), and a bunch of hooligans that brings them back to the reality of the movie they chose to make.

"Ang Babae sa Septik Tank" is one of the movie I have been watching for the nth time! Honestly guys, good or bad reviews, I am a solid supporter of Pinoy Films - mainstreams of indie films. And when I was invited for the blogger's night just to watch this movie, no hesitations, I signed up. Honestly, I really love the film watching Filipino movies. But more to my love on Filipino movies, this movie made me realize that there are some brilliant minds in the Philippine movie industry waiting to be discovered.

"Ang Babae sa Septic Tank" is a comedy portraying the day of three ambitious filmmakers and the portrayal of creative imagination at play. Aside from the obvious theme of poverty porn by most indie filmmakers in the industry nowadays, this film actually says a lot about the theme of exploitation and the current state of our country at the present. What's so great about the film is it's funny and entertaining yet at the same time it doesn't go over the line like most mainstream comedy films.

Once again Eugene Domingo proves her versatility as an actress. She delivered an absolutely knockout performance making a parody of her very own self in “Septic Tank”. The scene where she demonstrates the three types of acting sent us rolling down the aisle with laughter. You have to see her to believe what a comic genius she is. We really hope that "Ang Babae sa Septic Tank" could bring home the first Oscar Award for the Philippines.

Growing up, I was obsessed with shoes. When it comes to shirts, pants - I can wait for how many months just to save a penny to buy those things but when it comes to shoes, I simply can't help myself. Thanks to my Mom who's really supportive to me.

Dutch Anthropologist to receive Alay Katutubo Award

Antoon Postma, leading Dutch anthropologist, linguist and missionary will be conferred the Alay Katutubo Award for his invaluable contribution to the preservation, protection and promotion of the Mangyan culture and Mindoro heritage.

Bapa (meaning uncle in the Hanunuo Mangyan language), as Mangyans and Mindorenos fondly call him, was a Divine Word missionary priest when he first went to Mindoro in 1958. A few years later, after meeting the Mangyan peoples, he immediately recognized and was fascinated by the richness and beauty of their culture. He then started learning and documenting their way of life and focused greatly on their languages; the Hanunuo and Buhid Surat Mangyan, two of the only three ancient living scripts in the country; the Ambahan, Mangyan chanted poetry; and the many facets of Mangyan heritage.

Since then, he has been living in Mindoro for half a century, writing and publishing books and articles on the various facets of Mangyan culture. He literally married into the Mangyan peoples in 1989 when he left priesthood and married Yam-ay Insik of the Hanunuo group. He lives in Panaytayan, Mansalay with his wife, four children and three adopted kids.

Postma is also known for having deciphered Laguna Copperplate dated 900 A.D., the oldest written document found in the Philippines, and editing an old Spanish-Tagalog dictionary. Based on ancient SoutheastAsian scripts, he added the ‘pamudpud,’ a symbol that removes the last vowel in a syllable, to the Surat Mangyan, thereby making the surat easier to understand for the younger generations of Mangyans and‘damuong’ (non-Mangyans).

He has been living and working with the Mangyans for half a century and is now being recognized for his significant contributions to the preservation of Filipino cultural heritage, specifically of Mangyan culture, with the Alay Katutubo Award. Alay Katutubo is a joint program of the Southfields Educational Foundation Phils., Inc. (SEFPI) and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts – National Committee on Museums (NCCA-NCOM) to preserve, protect and promote the culture and heritage of Mindoro.

The awarding will be held during the formal launching program of the Mindoro Heritage Museum, a joint project of SEFPI and NCCA-NCOM under the Alay Katutubo program. It will be held on November 14, 2011 at the Dolce Vita di Jo Resort, Dulangan II, Oriental Mindoro.

Ms. Josefina D. Villamor, SEFPI President and Ms. Myrna Jimenez, Vice Chairperson of NCCA-NCOM will confer the award in cooperation with Governor Alfonso Umali of the Province of Mindoro and Director Jeremy Robert M. Barns of the National Museum.

Have you ever wondered what it would be to live in Africa? We all know that Africa belongs to some of the poorest nations in the world are in Africa.

Rain 4 Africa 2011 aims to raise awareness and raise funds for the people living in East Africa, which has now been gripped by what is considered to be the worst famine crisis in the last 20 years. All proceeds and donations made during the run will go straight to the World Food Programme’s initiatives.

Let's all help create awareness and raise funds for donation to East Africa, the region that is facing the worst famine crisis in nearly 20 years.Rain 4 Africa is a run for a cause organized by the Lifeline Foundation aimed to collect and bring help and save lives to the drought-stricken East Africa. This is a non-profit, all volunteer organized running event.

As Figaro grows stronger, does its commitment to the environment

It's nice to know that for regular coffee drinkers, you need to plant at least three coffee trees per cup of coffee per day. So what if a person consumes 3 cups of coffee per day? Just multiply it by three which makes it nine coffee trees. Let's give back to what we consume! Anyways, I seldom drink coffee but I joined this tree planting to help our coffee farmers in Brgy. Esperanza Ilaya, Alfonso, Cavite and also my Mom is a coffee drinker from morning to evening, so it's for you Mom!

This project provides the farmers with an opportunity to improve the natural resources in their farms, increase their incomes, and thereby improve conditions for the families and our community. I was also impressed with their level of enthusiasm and commitment to preserve and protect the environment and this drives me more to support their efforts.

We can contribute to the environment and the well-being of our families by expanding the forested area of our coffee farms and by planting high quality varieties of fruit trees. I proud to say that I planted a total of nine (9) coffee trees in the area and it's also nice to know that I learned from our tour guide that we have 4 varieties of coffee in the world. They are the Robusta, Arabica, Excelsa and Liberica.

Coffee, in addition to providing income, is a crop which protects the forest, the soil, and our water: elements without which life in the countryside would be so much more difficult.

The Philippines is located in the "Coffee Belt" region - the region of the world above equator where coffee can grow better. So it's really possible for the Philippines to be back on the top 5 producing countries when it comes to coffee products. We were included as Top 4 in the 80's. We just need to push it more and support our coffee farmers for this to become possible.

I am proud to be part of this drive, as Figaro grows stronger, does its commitment to the environment! More power to Figaro and may this coffee trees we planted on Brgy. Esperanza Ilaya, Alfonso, Cavite become fruitful and will help a lot of coffee farmers in the area.

World Vision and the relief operation in Calumpit, Bulacan

We are all aware of the devastation left by Typhoons Pedring and Quiel and I'm sure, most of us would like to help our fellow Filipinos who have been badly affected by these two typhoons. More than a week has passed since typhoons Pedring and Quiel hit several provinces in Central and Northern Luzon. Floodwater has not subsided and remain at 3 to 6 feet in some villages. Damage to agricultural and infrastructure wrought by Pedring climbed to P6.6 billion, while nearly half a million people are still unable to return to their homes four days since the typhoon left.In Bulacan, damage wrought by Pedring and Typhoon Quiel to crops was estimated at P600 million and to roads, bridges, dikes and canals at P200 million.

World Vision, a Christian development, relief and advocacy organization that seeks to help Pinoy kids, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice went to Calumpit, Bulacan to distribute relief goods. I am so thankful and honored that I was invited and was able to be in touch with the people of Calumpit and cover the said relief operation. World Vision went to Calumpit, Bulacan to distribute relief goods.

Briefing about the area and the things to do was made especially for us first timers on the said activity before we went to the area.

Typhoons Pedring and Quiel pounded most of Luzon and left several towns flooded and without electricity, food, water and shelter. Traces of the typhoons Pedring ang Quiel can still be seen on these papers all over the municipal hall. These are pertinent papers that are scattered on the municipal hall for drying.

According to Wikipedia, Calumpit is a 1st class urban municipality in the province of Bulacan, Philippines. According to the latest census, it has a population of 98,017 people in 16,167 households.

I still believe that the best way to succeed in life, is to help other people. If you find yourself sitting around the house feeling totally bored, volunteering in an activity you enjoy can be a great way to change things. We have so many everyday that's unproductive and most of the time, wasted.

This is what I love about this activity. You can learn about yourself, learn about others and meet a lot of interesting people by volunteering. You can help others as you help yourself.

"World Food Day" and the fight against hunger

Did you know that at this moment in time more than

500 million people are living in “absolute poverty”

and more than 15 million children die of hunger every year?

The fight against hunger is one advocacy that’s worthy of undertaking and promoting. This is one of the advocacy about caring for an issue deeply enough to stand up and say that something needs to be done about it. It’s painful to see babies, children and adults suffer from malnutrition, or make mud pies to merely survive, as what's happening everywhere in the world.

Sandwich Heroes Project was launched in partnership with World Food Programme and Unilever Philippines on October 24, 2012 at the Unilever Food Solutions Cilantro Kitchen, UN Avenue, City of Manila.

During the celebration of World Food Day 2011, according to WFP the message of this years event is “Feed a Child, Feed a Dream”, it connects the importance of nourishments to literacy. According to him, the brain of a nourished child functions well compare with the one who experience chronic hunger. Aside from the mental development it also affects the physical and emotional development of the child. It is very alarming to know that 12 million of the 1 Billion people around the world who are experiencing chronic hunger are located in the Philippines, and most of them are children who live in conflict affected areas, areas that experience calamity and extreme poverty.

World Food Day is observed every Oct. 16, in recognition of the founding of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), which took place that day in 1945. World Food Week is the week following World Food Day with different event around food and hunger issues.

Put Food First - Every day nearly 1 billion people go to bed hungry. Rising and volatile food prices are causing pain and suffering for poor people around the world, driving 44 million people into extreme poverty in recent months. We need to find solutions to ensure everyone has enough nutritious food now and in the years to come.

Imagine what it would be like if you could not eat for a day. It would not be as though you were unable to eat, but food would simply not be available. For hours you could think about food, picture it in your mouth as you savour it, but there would be nothing there. Your stomach would ache, your head would grow light, and your energy would falter. No matter what you did, where you turned, you could not eat anything. Now imagine if that day was like every single day of your life.

The World Health Organization estimates that one-third of our world’s population is underfed and another third is starving. Right now, more than 500 million people are living in “absolute poverty” and more than 15 million children die of hunger every year.

“Feiyue”, sets foot in the Philippines

Stage Play Review : The Sound of Music

"Relive the Drama of the Greatest Story for the Love of Music"

The night was filled with excitement for that was the first time to set foot on Resorts World Manila and I was there to watch the heartwarming production and an offering of the Resorts World Manila entitled "The Sound of Music." I haven’t read the book or seen this play in a movie that’s why I have no idea on what’s the plot or the story of this play. Sorry guys but that is the truth. I am just excited because this is my first experience at Resorts World Manila.

The Sound of Music (1959) is a musical by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II and a book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. It is based on the memoir of Maria von Trapp, The Story of the Trapp Family Singers. The Sound of Music tells of how Maria Rainer’s love for music and singing sees her dispatched from the convent to become a governess for the seven children of the stern widower Captain Georg Von Trapp.

I never thought that I knew many songs of this musical that have become standards like the song "The Sound of Music", "Edelweiss", "My Favorite Things", "Climb Ev'ry Mountain" and "Do-Re-Mi". These are the songs I am singing when I was a child but I never thought that they are original songs from this stage play.

There is so much to admire in this production. The entire cast is blessed with fine singing voices, and the show has a great deal of singing. The story and characters still works, though, as does the wonderful musical score. This stage play maximized the wide stage of RWM's Newport Performing Arts Theater (NPAT). This play also used state of the art designs and technologies. This is the one play that anyone who cares about live drama should see.

This lovely production with nuanced individual performances of this lovely play by the Resorts World Manila is truly a world-class!

Global Handwashing Day (GHD) Philippines - 4 years of promoting health thru handwashing

Global Handwashing Day (GHD) marked its 4th anniversary in the Philippines on October 15, 2011. Three main destinations were held in Manila, Cebu and Davao to remind the Filipino Families everywhere of the GHD message that "Clean hands Save Lives". The GHD, which is set every October 15, is a campaign that aims to motivate and mobilize millions around the world to wash their hands with soap, at the same time, raise awareness on the benefits of hand washing in preventing diseases.

For this year’s nationwide celebration, the theme was “Pamilya Playtime Para sa Kalusugan,” embodying the importance of children’s play and family activities through a fun-filled morning of games, while communicating the importance of handwashing with soap afterwards to keep kids healthy and prevent disease through a Grand Handwashing Ceremony with hundreds of children.

The Manila celebration was held in Batasan Hills National High School where hundreds of students join the games, and the handwashing drills. In this event was launched the "Tip It Up" set from the DOH for those areas who has no water supply.

In our hands alone, there are lots of microorganisms of so many kinds. Well there are millions of bacteria on your hands, also fungi and viruses. They are of all different kinds. When you wash your hands, you are not killing all of them, just the ones that have jumped on recently and are probably bad for you.

Handwashing is the most essential factor for maintaining good health. That is one of the things I've learned when I was in gradeschool that are really applicable everytime. Handwashing for hand hygiene is the act of cleaning the hands with or without the use of water or another liquid, or with the use of soap, for the purpose of removing soil, dirt, and/or microorganisms. Handwashing with water is not enough! Using soap breaks down disease-causing bacteria and leaves hands smelling good.

When to Wash Your hands? According to Department of Health, it must be at least minimum of 20 times per day. So it must be:

After using the washroom at home or at any public place
After visiting a patient at the hospital
Before as well as after eating food
Before and after one starts cooking food, especially meat, fish and poultry
After changing a baby's diaper
After touching pets or cleaning their feces
Before touching young infants and children
Before and after touching injured areas and changing the dressing of a wounded person
After collecting and throwing out garbage
After sneezing, coughing and blowing your nose
As necessary (I added this one to the list)

Keeping hands clean through improved hand hygiene is one of the most important steps we can take to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others. Keep your hands clean, make yourself a health agent. Let's save lives. Because clean hands, save lives!

"Budoy," not just your typical teleserye

Tonight is the premiere of the first advocacy-serye on Philippine TV on ABS-CBN. Entitled "Budoy," this teleserye talks about the life of a mentally disabled person named Budoy played by Gerald Anderson.

This family-oriented drama also stars Janice de Belen, Tirso Cruz III, Zsazsa Padilla, Mylene Dizon, Christian Vasquez, Jessy Mendiola, Enrique Gil, Ana Abad Santos, Dante Rivero, Gloria Sevilla and Barbara Perez. "Saan Darating ang Umaga" is the OST of the teleserye sang by Angeline Quinto.

I am glad that I was one of the lucky people who had the chance to see it first on the big screen before the regular airing of this teleserye on ABS-CBN. All I can say is that "Budoy" is not just a typical teleserye. There's something really special in "Budoy" which makes me feel that it's not that ordinary. It's for you to find out! Haha! 'Coz I am still searching for the right term for it.

Maybe it's hard to accept illnesses, handicaps, etc. but it's still much harder to lose someone in the family. I actually cried lots of times while watching this teleserye. It's common to most of TV series to show good values, importance of family, love, etc. But in this teleserye, you will really love the character "Budoy" which will teach you on acceptance especially on mentally-challenged person like "Budoy." Despite of cruelty he faced and the disability he had, he can still manage to smile and show the world love.

Tonight will be the start of "Budoy" on ABS-CBN right after 100 Days to Heaven. Don't dare miss it!

Jollibee Family Values Awards honors Five exemplary Pinoy families

Over a thousand of entries all over the country were received by Jollibee but only five was chosen to be given the award being the exemplary Pinoy families for the Jollibee Family Values Awards held at the Ballroom C,D,E of Crowne Plaza Hotel, Ortigas on September 28, 2011.

This was first announced last June and this is the first time that Jollibee will have this awards. This was culminated the two month-long nationwide search and was attended by Jollibee's top executives led by Jollibee Global president Ernesto Tanmantiong and Jollibee Philippines' Jose Minana.

This awards recognizes the values that these families influenced the Filipino communities. This is indeed a very special and very memorable night for all especially to the five chosen families. These five exemplary Filipino families possesses positive Filipino values - honesty, integrity, respect, unity, generosity, and of course love to one another.

Here are the list of winners for the 1st Jollibee Family Values Awards:

Depla Family (North Luzon)

Flor Depla is a midwife who volunteers her services for free for expectant mothers who cannot afford to have their babies delivered in the hospital. She also conducts pre-natal seminars to help would-be mothers in their community.

In addition, Flor acts as a guarantor for women in her barangay who wants to put up their small businesses. Her strong commitment to be of service to others has inspired all the other members of the Depla household to also do their share and reach out to other people in their community. All family members are active in the different projects of their Barangay, such as volunteering to help during medical missions, and clean-up drives among others.

Mercado Family (Mega Manila)
· Emmanuel “Wawel” (father) – President, St. John’s Health Network
· Mila (mother) - housewife
· Mary Grace Therese (daughter, 15 years old)

The Mercado family’s story is a testament not just of a husband’s unconditional love for his wife but also of the whole family’s resolve to rise above adversity. t. In 1986, Mila Mercado suffered brain damage while giving birth, leaving her paralyzed and unable to speak. But with the family’s strong faith and love for one another, they were able to accept this challenge from God wholeheartedly and instead opted to become sources of inspiration and hope for other people.

The family regularly gives talks, recollections and retreats in church communities and schools. Through Mr. Mercado’s initiative in their daughter's
school, Multiple Intelligence, they were able to launch and sustain the Cambantoc Reforestation project/. The family is also involved in advocating the implementation of the accessibility law in the Philippines.

The whole family looks forward to the several outreach programs they spearhead in their hometown of Lucena City as one of their favorite bonding activities. The Francisco family started a feeding program for public school children in Gumaca, Quezon in 2009, which has grown to cover 43 sites in Lucena City. They conduct this program every 6 months, 3x a week and even go the extra effort to monitor the growth of the children that have benefitted from their feeding programs). The family also organizes medical missions and helps children with cleft palate in their surgery.

Ernesto and Mardi facilitate and give talks to couples for the Christian Family Movement’s Discovery Weekend and Marriage Encounter. They also started a regular summer workshop called “Kids for Peace”, where all of their children speak and participate, and are also regular facilitators of the 7 Habits for Highly Effective Teens workshops.

The Cartojano family are all active members of the Red Cross. Rey is a board member of the Gensan Red Cross chapter and assists in the legal and policy making of the organization. Maya was an active member of the Quezon City Red Cross and helped during rallies, disasters and national conventions. Meanwhile, Rey Jr and Thea are trained first-aiders and volunteers during disasters, bloodletting and other community service events.

Movie Review: No Other Woman

This is the synopsis:

Anne Curtis is Kara Zalderiaga, a young, beautiful carefree socialite who can and will get whatever she wants. She has had many boyfriends but has continuously been emotionally-detached to love. To Kara, life is all fun and in "love", no strings attached, But deep in her core, she has been longing not just to be desired and admired but likewise appreciated and truly loved.

Derek Ramsey is Ram Escaler, a charming, dedicated furniture salesman husband driven by his ambition to prove himself to the world. To Ram, being a good husband that can provide the best life to his family is a lifelong goal. He is obsessed with the idea of living out of the shadows of his father-in-law and away from the image of his estranged father.

Cristine Reyes is Charmaine Escaler, the beautiful "perfect" wife, calculating, prim and proper to a fault. Charmaine is concerned with image and takes her role as an ideal wife to heart. To Charmaine, she will let nothing and no one ruin the "perfection" she has created for her family.

How will these three lives change? How can the once carefree mistress become clingy to the only man who believed and appreciated her and destroy both her family's name and the family of the one she loves? How can an ideal husband be overcome by passion and commit the biggest mistake of his life? How can the "perfect" wife save her marriage and not become an appalling and monstrous version of herself? Amidst these tensions, scandals, confrontations and their emotions, the three would eventually learn a lesson that will change their lives forever.

My Review:

It's my first time to watch a first day-screening of a Filipino film and I was surprised that even if it's already 12:30am screening, the moviehouse was fully-occuied. I was with Rod Magaru, Flow Galindez and Jeman Villanueva on an unplanned movie trip to watch this "No Other Woman". Anyways, I was present during the presscon of this movie at Dolphy Theater (see the article here) last week.

I like the story because it's not that complicated. The cast is perfect. Lead roles in this movie - Anne Curtis, Cristine Reyes and Derek Ramsey fit in their roles as the other woman, the husband and the perfect wife respectively. I've never seen Cristine Ryes in a role like this - the domestic (perfect) housewife and for Anne Curtis, although I see a "Celine" like quality (from the teleserye "Maging Sino Ka Man" on ABS-CBN) in her character in this movie. There's something more to her character. The storyline seems simple, but I am sure that you will surely love the dialogues and the scenes most especially the confrontation scenes between the leads. The locations that they filmed the movie for is beautiful as well.

What I like most about this movie are the quotable quotes that you will surely remember. I don't know if you will agree with me guys, but I will arrange them according to the effect of those lines to me. Here they are:

1. "Dahil nga ang mundo ay isang malaking Quiapo - maraming isnatcher! Maaagawan ka! Lumaban ka!" - Carmi Martin

2. "I know the market because I am the market!" - Anne Curtis

3. "Panahon na para ipack-up mo ang Lucy Torres mo! Ilabas mo na 'yang si Gretchen Barreto mo!" - Carmi Martin

4. "Ahaha! Joke lang... Natakot ka ba? Sorry ha, medyo off ang humor ko lately." - Cristine Reyes

Orange Magazine TV had its official re-launch last Saturday night (September 24, 2011) at Gweilos Bar, Mall of Asia, Pasay City. Orange Magazine TV started in July 2010 and this is the brainchild of Jessie Bunyi Villanueva, an avid magazine collector who previously worked as tabloid correspondent and as an Events, Media and Promotions Coordinator for a couple of print magazine publications.

It was attended by lots of bloggers all over the metro. It was a celebration for the success of the blog since it was launched a year ago and the announcement of it's very first print version this coming November 2011 (see the article here).

It was a night of fun, enjoyment and friendship for the bloggers who attended this event. Most of these bloggers were my first time to meet in person in this event and they were so nice and very welcoming.

Learn different recipes from the country's top chefs at SM Hypermarket's 'Master Chefs'

I have just met Chef Jonathan Chua, one of the country's well-known top chefs. Chef Jonathan Chua is a graduate of Dela Salle College of Saint Benilde having a degree of Bachelor of Science in Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Management; graduated Associate Degree for Culinary and Baking and Pastries at the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, USA; and working as a Product Application Specialist for San Miguel Purefoods Culinary Center. He handles Recipe Development for accounts such as Magnolia Dairy, Purefoods, Magnolia Poultry and Monterey Meats.

Known as Chef Jon, he demonstrated and taught us on how to cook 4 different recipes on this session. Those are Star Ranchero Rice, Cheesy Hotdog and Fries Sandwich Overload, Peaches and Cream Caramel Triffle, and Chicken and Mushroom Baked Rice.

By the way, it's my first time to attend a cooking demo like this and I so much enjoyed the cooking demonstration with Chef Jon.

Star Ranchero Rice

Ingredients:
1/2 kilo Purefoods Star Hotdog (cut into small cubes)
1/4 cup olive oil
1 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup green bell pepper (seeded and chopped)
2 tsbp cilantro (chopped)
1 pc siling labuyo
1 cup long grain white rice
2 1/2 cup beef broth
1/2 cup pizza sauce sweet style
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tbsp paprika
Salt and pepper to taste 3 pc eggs

Procedure:
1. Place oil in a standard rice cooker
2. Heat oil and saute onions, bell pepper and tomatoes
3. Cook slightly.
4. Add hotdog, rice and cilantro
5. Add siling labuyo, and beef broth and mix very well
6. Cover and allow to cook
7. When done, season with salt and pepper
8. Transfer rice into an oven proof baking dish
9. Crack eggs over rice then broil in oven or turbo broiler until eggs are cooked

10. Serve hot. Serves 3-4.

Cheesy Hotdog and Fries Sandwich Overload

Ingredients:
6pc hotdog buns
6pc Purefoods Tender Juicy Hotdog (Kingsize), pan fried or steamed
1cup Magnolia Cheezee Spread (in squeeze bottle)
300gm store-bought frozen crosscut fries, fried to a crisp
2tbsp store-bought cheese powder
200gm Purefoods Honeycured Bacon, chopped and fried

Procedure:
1. Sandwich hotdogs in buns then drizzle with Cheezee Spread
2. Toss fries with cheese powder until well
3. Coated then top over sandwich
4. Sprinkle chopped bacon over fries
5. Serve. Makes 6 sandwiches

Chicken and Mushroom Baked Rice

Ingredients:
2cups Magnolia Nutri-oil
9pc Magnolia Chicken Station Chicken Fingers (Vanilla)
3cups cooked rice
1can condensed cream of mushroom
1cup of Magnolia Quickmelt Cheese, grated

Procedure:
1. Deep fry chicken fingers in hot oil until it became color golden brown
2. Drain oil on paper towels
3. Top fried chicken fingers on top of rice then pour over condensed cream of mushroom over the chicken
4. Top with grated cheese then bake until cheese melts and browns slightly

5. Serves 3-4.

Peaches and Cream Caramel Triffle

Ingredients:
6pc store bought or prepared chiffon or sponge cake
Frosting:
2pack Magnolia All Purpose Cream (chilled)
Filling:
Caramel:
2cups sugar
1/2cup water
1pack Magnolia All Purpose Cream
1/4cup Dairy Cream Classic Margarine
1can sliced peaches (rederve few slices for garnish), drained
Garnish:
1/2cup store-bought toasted nuts, sliced

Procedure:
1. Whip Magnolia All Purpose Cream until stiff peak and chill until ready to use
2. To make caramel: Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat until sugar is cooked and has turned amber in color.
3. Quickly pour cream and stir vigorously
4. Cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat the add margarine. Set aside to cool.
To assemble:
1. Divide the cake into two slices horizontally
2. Place a layer of cake on the bottom of a triffle bowl
3. Spread caramel over the cake then top with whipped cream and slices of peaches.
4. Repeat the process to the second layer.
5. Lastly, frost and pipe rosettes on top of the cake with the remaining cream.
6. Garnish with nuts and peaches.
7. Serves 8-10.

It's been 5 years since I started blogging. And in those five long years, I have encountered so many problems here in blogging and even became friends with some bloggers. Some stayed... But most are gone in blogosphere. I don't know why, but maybe, they found themselves happy out of the blogosphere.

I never imagined myself to be a blogger for a long time. I just started blogging for the purpose of promoting my beloved town and show the world that there exist a town where my heart is. Then became a personal blogger since I write almost all of the things I am doing everyday.

Today, I have 5 active blogs of different categories - entertainment, nursing/medical, travel, indie movies and this personal blog. Maybe, this is the peak of my addiction to blogging since almost everyday, all of the things I want to say will be written and will be published in these blogs.

I have lots of time that I have hiatus over my blogs. I don't know. It's just sometimes, eventhough that there are already inputs in my mind, I have no driving force to write it or even publish it.

You'll never know what will happen next. But for now, I am enjoying myself being here in the blogosphere. :) Happy blogging everyone!

Let's talk about shoes...

Your shoes and lso the things around you really reflects yourself most of the time. It's not just because it's what you want to wear but also because it fits your personality.

When it comes to shoes, you have to consider so many things. Of course, it would be so nice to have a very comfortable shoes and fashionable at the same time. But it's better if the shoes is easy to switch, mix and match with the other clothes.

I have seen lots of shoes and I can say that most of the fashionable shoes that I wore before was not that comfortable. Of course, I want an attractive shoes and at the same time, comfortable.

Here are some of my criteria in picking shoes:

1. Cost (because I don't have lots of money to buy some expensive shoes)
2. Comfortable to wear
3. Quality
4. Fashionable
5. Easy to switch, mix and match with my other clothes
6. The color (my favorite color is green)
7. Brand
8. Type of footware, style...

A Night to Remember : Divas Go Beyond Limits

Three of GMA Artist Center (GMAAC)’s musical artists took the centerstage last night in a show billed Beyond Limits at the Music Museum.

Jonalyn Viray, the first ever Pinoy Pop Superstar’s grand champion; Frencheska Farr, Are You The Next Big Star’s title holder; and YouTube sensation Julie Anne San Jose come together for a night of musical artistry.

Over 725 people witnessed their beyond limits dance moves and powerful voices. These three ladies showed their beyond limits production numbers which wowed the audience.

Joining them are the energetic boys of G-Force. It's my very first time to watch them live and I was amazed with their dancing skills. They have already their trademark dance steps which moved me much.

It's also nice to know that this concert trended from the start of the show until 3 hours after the show. Beyond Limits is such a phenomenal concert that everyone would want to have a repeat!

I also love their rapport knowing that these girls are good friends.

I haven't seen these prods in the concert in any Party Pilipinas episode. I hope, staff of Party Pilipinas was there to see them in this beyond limits performances for them to know that these girls can really rock stage with these kind of performances. They showed truly amazing and one-of-a-kind performances in this concert.

I have seen stars like Jay Perillo, Sheree, Bryan Termulo, Bianca King, Gian Magdangal, Chynna Ortaleza, Ynna Assistio and DownToMars (group) wathing this concert. It's nice to see them in the concert showing their support to their fellow GMA Artists/Party Pilipinas artists.

Beyond Limits is simply the best. These three lovely and talented ladies proved that they can captivate the audience with their voice and dance prowess... Kudos to those people behind this very humble concert to remember. These three girls are truly world class and talented young divas of today's generation. This really deserves a repeat but next time, on a bigger venue. Right?!

Edwin Rey: Nilampasan nila ung expectation ko sa concert na to. I'm a big fan of this three ladies. I know their role and style when in comes to ENTERTAINMENT. Sa TITLE palang ng concert BEYOND LIMITS, talangang beyond their limits ang ginawa nila. VERY ENTERTAINING. This concert deserves a REPEAT or PART 2. BOW DOWN. KUDOS.

Poblete: We were there and we witnessed different sides of these three wonderful ladies. they have given their own time to shine, sa totoo lang mas makikita mo ung husay nila and versartility nila in terms of singing, dancing and hosting! Ms. Jonalyn Viray's rendition of MacArthur's Park is very powerful - a standing ovation number! Kaya talagang mahaba at maingay na palakpakan and sigawan from the audience.... Make it better September!

Now is September 1! Today is the start of the month. Let's start the month with good vibes!
Be more positive. September is the start of "ber" months. It only means that Christmas season is also drawing near.

Start believing that things are going to change for the better. Not because you deserve it,
but simply because God loves you that much.

This is my note to self: Stay positive! Because negativity will only make you feel bad, and if you think you'll lose... you will. So chin up, smile on your face, and show the world you can do anything. Make your anger very expensive so that nobody could afford.

Finally...

"Last month, nanaginip si Mommy ko.

Kinwento sa akin ng Mommy ko 'yan a week before my board exam. Syempre, as usual, pinakinggan ko lang pero hindi ko ninamnam kung anong ibig sabihin noon dahil masyado akong kabado dahil nga board exams na in a week.

Aminado naman ako na tamad talaga ako especially pumasok sa review. Kung hindi masakit ang ulo, nilalagnat ang reasons ko para hindi pumasok. Wala lang, just an excuse kasi nag-eenjoy akong matulog. Gusto ko kasing itulog ang pressure at ang kaba na nararamdaman ko.

Nakapag-exam naman ako at syempre, ang pinakamahirap sa lahat ay ang halos 1 month na paghihintay sa results. Mas kabado ako since alam ko na hindi ako ganun kaconfident with myself. I know I have the knowledge pero syempre, sa katamaran ko at mga pinaggagawa kong kalokohan, hindi ako sigurado.

Nangyari pa na pauwi pa ako ng Mindoro ng date kung kailan lalabas ang results ng Nurse Licensure Examinations. Mas lalo akong kinabahan kasi, alam ninyo na, probinsya ito, kapag nalamang bumagsak ka or pumasa ka, balitang-balita ako sa buong kanayunan.

Kumakain ako with my Mommy at Ate ko nang biglang magring ang phone ni Ate ko. I know na lumabas na ang board exam results kaya tahimik na tahimik ako kasi hindi ko naman alam kung pumasa ako. Wala rin kasing internet dito sa amin sa Mindoro kundi sa bayan pa. At nang tinanong ako ng Ate ko kung alam ko raw kung kelan ang labas ng results ng board exams, syempre ang sagot ko ay hindi ko alam. Mas mabuti na 'yun kesa sabihin kong alam ko kasi mas lalo akong kakabahan.

Natuwa lang ako nang finally binati ako ni Ate ko at pinakita sa akin na nakapasa ako. At first, sobrang doubtful pa ako kasi ang hirap talagang maniwala. Baka kasi joke lang 'yung ipinakita niya sa phone niya. Sobrang saya ko to finally confirmed na pasado na ako sa Nursing Licensure Examinations! RN na ako! Woot! Woot!

It happened pa na nasa Mindoro ako nung lumabas ang results ng board exams. Walang internet at talagang wala pa akong alam kung kelan talaga lalabas ang results ng board exams. Maraming salamat na lang sa mga taong nag-aabang ng results for me kasi sila 'yung nagbalita sa amin.

My Mind Master Experience!

This is the first time that I was invited for the set visit with the bloggers. At first talaga ay kinakabahan ako since hindi ko rin naman close 'yung mga kasama ko at first time ko rin makakasama. Well, thanks to Florencio Jusay Jr., Heidi Kleiber and Janette Toral for being so nice :)

Mind Master shows Nomer's ability to read someone's mind. Nomer can do the telepathy, clairvoyance, divination, precognition, psychokinesis, mediumship, mind control, memory feats and rapid mathematics. Some of them was already shown in the past episodes but some of them will be seen in the remaining episodes.

I've got lots of headaches after I was invited to ! I don't know if it's because Nomer's reading my mind or he's already in entire brain (just kidding!). But seeing live this mentalism acts is definitely a great experience! I actually don't believe when I see these things on TV but now, I don't know. There are still things/phenomena in this world that can't be explained!

Doubts will remain but still, I can say that these mentalism acts which Nomer showed and will show on TV will help us know more what mentalism is all about and what it can do for us. I can be a witness that there's no camera tricks used here and what we actually seen live will be seen on TV. Nomer also uses death defying acts (using knives, staplers, etc) that's why there are always available paramedics on the show.

This kind of TV show is really entertaining!
I liked the artistic approach as well.

Mentalism on television can easily be hit or miss and having the right combination of charisma, charm, personality, entertainment value and timing for public broadcast is a difficult endeavor to achieve.

The Adventures of Pureza : Queen of the Riles Movie Review - My Misadventure

I went to the cinema with my friends to watch Harry Potter. That was supposed to be our plan but then when we heard na puno na 'yung cinemas allotted to Harry Potter, we need to choose now what we'll be watching. Since napanood na namin ang Transformers 3, naisip na lang namin to watch The Adventures of Pureza : Queen of the Riles movie. Kumbaga, suportahan na lang natin ang sariling atin!

Nanghihinayang ako for this movie since launching movie ito nina Melissa Cantiveros and Jayson Francisco which nagustuhan ko sa Pinoy Big Brother house. Sila 'yung funny tandem na nabuo sa bahay ni Kuya na natural talagang nagpapatawa sa akin and even my friends kaya kahit na medyo hindi maganda ang nabasa naming reviews, pinili pa rin naming manood. But what's sad, I didn't find the movie as enjoyable as I expected.

I guess the script was just too bland that not even the talented cast can sustain the laughs. Mas enjoyed ko pa 'yung mga scenes nila before sa Pinoy Big Brother na napakanatural. Unlike here na parang nagmumukhang napilitan lang silang sabihin 'yung mga lines.

Napaka-dated ng humor. It's not slapstick but it leaves you wanting more kasi you'd end up saying na "nakita or narinig ko na yan." Parang kung hindi naman bitin, ay kulang naman.

Nakulangan ako sa exposure ni Bekimon. I expected more scenes from him at 'yung mga kakaiba niyang mga words/terms na napapanood ko sa YouTube.

Peace sa mga fans! In my opinion, Melai Cantiveros and Jayson Francisco deserved a better-scripted launching movie.

Tempted to Watch Temptation Island : Movie Review

I don't know if it's an advantage or not if I didn't see the original Temptation Island movie (1980). But honestly, I enjoyed the film because it was a decent and faithful rehash (according to those who watched the original).

Let's talk about the cast.

Obviously, this is Serafina M.'s movie because she's the lead and she has the meatiest lines in this movie. I like the character of Lovi Poe in the movie. She had the best and bitchiest lines amongst everyone. Malumanay man siya magsalita minsan and she might not have the same angas as the one who originally portrayed her character, nagustuhan ko ang atake niya sa role.

Marian Rivera did justice to her crook and sosyalerang pokpok character. Over-the-top minsan ang acting niya minsan pero that makes her shine. Sila ni Ruffa Mae ang paborito kong scene stealer and most of the time na nakakapagdeliver sila ng magagandang lines, silang dalawa ang pinapalakpakan sa sinehan (Trinoma).

Rufa Mae Quinto exhibited the same brand of comedy that we've seen from her over the years. Very forgivable. She managed to make me laugh pa rin naman and bigay na bigay siya sa mga dance sequences niya and I loved that. Very few lines from her but still memorable and well applauded! Her personality still steals the scenes in the movie at times, especially with that unique intonation of hers, but in terms of character development she does a pretty good job.

Heart Evangelista's role in Temptation Island is forgettable. Except for that scene wherein she confronted Aljur for engaging on a one-night stand with Lovi's character, Serafina, wala ng memorable scenes from her. I guess it didn't help that her love interest in the movie is Aljur.

Aljur is an obvious miscast. It was painful to see him act onscreen. The twang and the inflection of the voice sounded unnatural. Pakisalang na lang ulit sa mga acting workshops. Please...

Tom Rodriguez is just a wonderful sight to see sa movie. Mapapatingin ka talaga sa belt niya. Hahaha! May chemistry sila ni Marian.

Si Mikael, may binabagayang mga anggulo. Di siya flattering sa ibang kuha ni Direk sa kanya sa film. Pasado siya para sa akin; acting-wise. It's nice to see rin a newcomer like him na maganda ang acting and I really love his "Jushwa" pronunciation.

Solenn was a pleasant surprise. Nagulat ako sa laki ng improvement niya acting-wise. She's come a long way from her My Valentine Girls days. Horrible ang acting niya sa My Valentine Girls at nakita ko naman ang improvement niya sa movie na ito.

John Lapus delivered. His take on the character may not be as sophisticated as that of the one who originally portrayed but he was good. Baklang-bakla nga talaga siya. Very natural!

Overall, I had lots of laughs. Aside from the fried chicken and ice cream sequences, benta sa akin yung interview ng reporter na nag-aala Mike Enriquez sa mother ni Solenn at yung may-ari ng Manila Sunshine cosmetics. Kudos sa in-charge ng wardrobe. I love what the girls wore sa actual contest and sa cruise ship. Overall, okay para sa akin ang movie. Chris Martinez as a writer and a director always delivers.

I'm Happy. I'm Single.

I've been in a very healthy relationships before. I have as short as 2 months and as long as 1 year and 2 months. It seems like I am always in a cloud nine during those times. It feels good to be inlove everyday and to be with the person you love.

It feels better when you have someone taking care of you, thinking about you, honestly, sweetly, faithfully and securely loving you.

It also feels good not being committed into a relationship. No crying moments, no mind-bugging quarrels and no partner to think about.

Well, sometimes, I miss my Ex. I miss my Ex? Did I say that?! Well, sometimes, we have to realize that there are certain people who are meant to stay in our hearts, but not in our lives. Sad but true.

I miss no one. I just miss the feeling of being taken care of by a special someone and proving myself that I'm stil capable of loving again.

Though I'm not sure if it's complete, but what's important is, I know dat I am inlove. I feel my existence when my heart beats for someone else, for I know that I'm alive when my heart is in love...

For now, I'm happy and contented being single...

It's not really an alibi! I'm free. I've got no commitments, no worries. But still, I will never get tired of waiting for someone who would have the courage to prove to me that...

There's more in life if YOU & ME collide. But come to think of it! There are no such things that are permanent. Everything would be permanent if people just know how to be... CONTENTED! Right?!

I've been living for a year that's full of hatred and bitterness - Love, relationships, friendhips, family ;-( I know that I also did hurt them for I was hurt so bad.

This has been my profile picture on Facebook for so long...

And until now, I can still feel the same. I was betrayed by my best friend because of love. And that person whom I love betrayed me for another love...

It's been a year that I cursed them. It's been a year of living so miserable... The past is just a shadow of what is now, people change and people forget.

What we need now is to focus on the future. I don't know if I can love a hundred percent just like before... But I am still hoping that the next chapter of my life will be great.

Bakit Hindi Dapat Maligo sa Dagat kapag Semana Santa?

Bakit nga raw ba hindi pwedeng maligo sa dagat kapag "Mahal na Araw"? Ito pa naman ang panahon ng bakasyon kung saan marami ang mga bakasyunistang gustong maligo sa dagat.

Isa ‘yan sa mga katanungan noong bata pa ako. Hindi kasi kami pinapayagan ng aming mga magulang lalo na ‘yung mga matatanda na maligo sa dagat kapag panahon ng "Semana Santa" lalo na kapag may mga pangalan na ang araw magmula sa Lunes Santo.

Sa init ng panahon ngayon, hinahanap talaga ng mga tao ang mga beach, pool at ilog para makapaligo. Summer na summer at maeenjoy lang ito sa paliligo!

Karamihan kasi ng mga nagpepenitensya especially sa amin sa buong bayan ng Paluan ay naliligo sa dagat pagkatapos nilang umikot sa bayan. Ang mga dugo nila ay nahahalo sa tubig dagat dahil doon sila nagbabanlaw.

Kaya kadalasan ay walang naliligo sa dagat namin kapag ganitong panahon. Alam mo na?

I am so much of a fan of Julie Anne Peñaflorida San Jose. I met her at Party Pilipinas where almost everySunday, I am there to watch it live. Thanks to them! Haha!

I was there at Jonalyn Viray UNCOVERED Concert!

I am not a follower nor a fan of Jonalyn Viray eversince she started at Pinoy Pop Superstar. For me siguro, kailangan pa ng something na magpapaamaze sa akin to be a fan of that person. Hindi naman kasi ako ganoong fanatic though I love entertainment.

Some of my favorite OPM stars ay sina Regine Velasquez, Janno Gibbs, Rachelle Ann Go, Kyla, Christian Bautista, Eric Santos at marami pang iba. Ilang beses ko nang nameet si Jonalyn Viray through Rikki Cajoles and his friends na sobra kong naging kaclose.

She's nice and very much approacheable. Isang bagay na napahanga ako sa kanya, na kahit ang taas-taas ng boses niya, ganun naman siya ka down to earth. I was invited by Rikki na manood ng UNCOVERED concert ni Jonalyn Viray sa Bagaberde, Pasay City.

Since I'll be with my closest friends, um-okey na ako. Passed 9pm na nagstart ang concert ni Jonalyn Viray. It started with the song As the concert goes on, hindi ko namamalayan that I'm already loving Jonalyn Viray and her beautiful voice.

390 lang ang capacity ng Bagaberde pero balita ko na umabot pa sa 420+ pa ang dumalo sa concert. Bravo to Jonalyn at sa mga tumulong na mapromote ang concert niyang ito!

I never thought that I just need to experience her great voice to be amazed! Her enchanting voice that night pumps my heart out at unti-unti kong namalayan that I'm already cheering and yelling for Jonalyn! That night was so memorable for me for that was the first time, I allowed myself to be in Jonatics Barkada (Jonalyn Viray's Fan Club).

Todo birit siya ng songs lalo na ang "Butterfly" ni Mariah Carey na may effect pa na lumabas mga butterflies sa buong Bagaberde. At ang pinakafinale ang "Run to You" na winning piece naman niya sa Pinoy Pop Superstar kung saan siya nanalo.

By the way, kasama ko noong gabing 'yun sa table si Frencheska Farr na nagchicheer din for Jonalyn. I was touched by Frencheska Farr naman na todo suporta sa co-artist niya sa Party Pilipinas.

Sobrang memorable experience ito sa akin kasi after ng party sa Bagaberde, nagkaroon pa kami ng bonding session with them. Saya! I am a Jonatics now kaya naman isa na siya sa mga reason kung bakit ako nagiging loud!

I am so much of a fan of those talented people - actors, actressess, writers, directors, etc. They makes me loud so much being a fanatic!

DIREK RICO V. GUTIERREZ - This great man is such a music genious! He's a director of Party Pilipinas that is so innovative and creative and very approacheable! He was one of reasons for the innovation and the world class quality of GMA7's newest Musical-Variety Show, Party Pilipinas.

JONALYN VIRAY - She was known for possessing a wide vocal range and having Mariah Carey as her greatest musical influence on her vocal styles and techniques and is her influence on the use of the whistle register. Everytime she performs at Party Pilipinas, all my reactions are "wow", "great" goosebumps!

HANNAH FLORES - I have met this lovely lady because of a good friend of mine and even though she's a singing star (ASAP/ShoutOut - ABS-CBN), you'll see her as lovely and very accomodating and friendly. This ShoutOut girl has something to offer with her lovely voice and such a talented one!

YASSI PRESSMAN - She's the newest it girl in Party Pilipinas. She is really a multi-talented girl... She can act, sing and dance..

Nasaan ba talaga si Happiness?

Somebody asked me a while ago: "Happy ka ba Kuya?"
I told her: "Yes, happy ako!"

Pero doubtful siya the way I stared at her at syempre alam niya ang kalagayan ko ngayon. Well, maybe I am not and I am just pretending to be happy.

Sino ba namang tanga magiging happy sa kalagayan ko ngayon? Well, at least I can find happiness and I can still manage to smile kahit na alam ko na sobrang hirap ng katayuan ko. Humuhugot na lang ako ng happiness sa Mommy ko at sa mga taong nagmamahal sa akin.

Kahit sa mga simpleng poem na ginagawa ko, happiness na 'yun at sa mga texts na sinesend ko sa mga friends ko, happiness na 'yun. Ayoko nang maghanap sa mga taong wala nang magagawa sa akin habang buhay.

Masama ba 'yun?

Ipakita sa lahat ng tao

na masaya ako kahit deep

inside down na down na ako?

Totally now, sobrang dwon ako pero hangga't maari, pinakikita ko sa mga taong nagmamahal sa akin na kaya ko sa kabila ng mga hindi magagandang balita at mga sinasabi sa akin. I am pretending to be okey kahit obvious na hindi talaga.

May mga tao kasing akala nila alam na nila ang lahat. Gusto ko nang manahimik at kalimutan ang lahat kahit pa gaano sila naging kaimportante sa buhay ko. At sana hanggang kamatayan, dalhin ko ang kalimutan sila. Sana!

Hinahanap ko ba si happiness? Hindi naman! Title lang 'yan. Happiness - 'yan ang mga taong nagmamahal sa akin at mahal na mahal ko rin. Wala na akong ineexpect pang iba! Wala na!

Ako ay laging EVEREADY!

Lumaki ako at nagkaisip dito sa simpleng bayan ng Paluan sa Occidental Mindoro. Kindergarten (5 years old) na ako noon nang magkaroon ng 12-hour na serbisyo ng kuryente sa amin kaya sanay na sanay kami at nabubuhay sa pakikinig ng radyo.

Isa sa mga natatandaan kong paborito ko noong bata pa ako ay ang "Gabi ng Lagim" at ang "Itong Inyong Tiya Dely" sa DZRH. Masasabi ninyong radyo lang 'yun pero takut na takot na kami lalo na kapag may mga sumisigaw na. Nakakatuwa kasi dahil sa radyong iyon, buhay na buhay ang aming imahinasyon. Napapaluha naman kami ng mga liham sa programang panghapon ni Tiya Dely.

Akalain mo, kinatandaan ko na ang transistor radio na ito? Buhay na buhay pa rin dahil sa Eveready batteries. Hindi pa nasisira 'yan!

Gamit na gamit ang flash light at radyo noon at hanggang ngayon dito sa aming bayan lalo na ng pamilya namin. Hanggang ngayon kasi (after 15 years) ay ganun pa rin ang serbisyo ng kuryente kaya malaking tulong ang Eveready batteries sa pang-araw araw naming pamumuhay.

Hindi mawawala sa buhay namin ang Eveready batteries lalo na sa bago kong aquarium. Ang bagong battery-operated air pump ay kailangang-kailangan dahil walang kuryente sa umaga.

Maparemote man 'yan ng TV or DVD, siguradong Eveready 'yan. Subok na eh!

Umulan man o bumagyo, o kahit sa normal na mga araw, lagi naming kasama ang Eveready batteries sa aming pamumuhay. Mapaflashlight man 'yan o radyo, sinisigurado naming Eveready ang gamit. Subok na tumatagal at hindi pumapalya.

My Christmas Wish This Year: A Nokia C7

I've faced so many hardships in life this 2010. So many failures and trials to start all over again. I failed so many times this year but I never surrender and tried again and again. I've lost some friends and those people who are so dearest to me this year but I gained more and more. I can never ever forget this 2010.

I've spent my 23rd birthday (last December 7) with my Mommy watching My Amnesia Girl and just strolling the mall. We're still happy 'coz we are together in my very special day. I am a materialistic person (most of the times) but I realized that there are things in this world that can't be measured by these material things. It's nice to know that my Mom's happiness counts a lot for me.

I realized that this is the season where there's nothing impossible. Maybe, there's still the real Santa who makes wishes come true.They say, dreams do come true... Same as wishes! For now, my Christmas wish this year is a Nokia C7. I just wish...

Everybody has a wish! I too have so many wishes. On top of it, it's Nokia C7.

I am still hoping for a better year to come with the new Nokia C7. I just hope I'll get it for I have been a good boy this year (except when necessary).

Acceptance : The point when we

stop questioning why life can't be

perfect and just accept the world the way it is.

Sobrang emotional ako, nakikisabay sa panahon ng taglamig not just because I am single but also, lots of problems na dumating sa akin. Hindi ko na iisa-isahin pero it rocked my whole life at feeling ko, muntik na akong bumigay.

Thanks to those people especially my Mommy, Kuya and my friends na hindi ako iniiwan kahit na suplado ako at reklamador. I know na madalas akong may attitude kasi ganun na talaga ako.

If may problema ako, very vocal akong sabihin ito sa mga friends ko kahit na ano pa ito kasi I trusted them so much. I always believe that:

“Alam na alam ng mga

tunay mong kaibigan kung

paano ka sisirain pero hindi

nila iyon gagawin kailanman”

I always trust my friends kahit alam kong ikakasira ko ang mga ‘yun and I found out that I only have fewer real friends. I thought, nasa libo sila sa bilang ‘cause kahit ganito ako, friendly naman daw ako. Pero at least nasala ko na ang mga friends ko at alam ko na kung sino sa kanila ang mga maaasahan ko.

Noong birthday ko, kasama ko sa celebration ang Mommy ko. Happy na kami na magdate kami – kumain kami lang dalawa, magala sa mall at manood ng sine. Happiness na ‘yun kasi kasama ko naman ang pinakaimportanteng tao sa buhay ko ngayon.

Pagbukas ko ng Facebook ko, marami rin akong natanggap na comments from my wall pati na rin sa message box ko. Though hindi lahat maganda ang mga words na sinasabi sa pm, okey lang…

Hindi pa natapos ang birthday ko kasi nakasama ko sina Ate Anna, Kuya Noel at Ate Abie na ilan sa mga kaclose ko talaga. Nagkita kita kami sa Market Market sa Taguig kasi akala ko simple dinner lang kasi minsan na nga lang magkita-kita. ‘Yun pala ay gala talaga!

First time ko nga palang makagala sa Bonifacio High Street at talaga palang magandang galaan ‘yun. Hindi ko kasi naaappreciate kasi madalas akong dumaan dun kapag araw. At kapag ginagabi naman kami ay sa Market Market lang kami.

Simpleng dinner lang sa Pier One courtesy by Kuya Noel na isa ring nagbirthday kasabayan ko. Magaling ang banda nilang Daughters 5 kasi all girls band group sila tapos lahat ng instruments meron sila. Kakabilib sila kasi sobrang nag-enjoy kami!

After noon ay naglakad-lakad pa kami at nagcoffee sa Bo’s Coffee courtesy naman ni Ate Anna. Hindi man ako mayaman, mayaman naman ako sa mayayamang kaibigan. Haha! Mayayaman sila sa pagmamahal at pagtitiwala sa akin that’s why sobrang mahal ko rin sila. Hindi ako mahilig sa coffee pero okey na rin. Marami na kasing beses kaming nagStarbucks, Seattle’s Best, etc. pero talaagang hindi ko gusto ang coffee. Milk pa pwedeng-pwede sa akin! Haha! Mas gusto ko ang milk kesa sa coffee pero pwede na rin ang chocolate.

Malapit nang magPasko, dapat HaPPiness na! It’s not nice for me na magpakasenti pa at maging negative pa. I still have so much reasons to smile though napakabigat talaga ng problema ko.

I am just hoping na maging okey ang 2011 sa akin pati na sa Mommy ko at Kuya ko. I am starting to erase those people na alam kong never nang magiging okey sa akin. So far, I feel better today and hopefully tomorrow and to the coming years of my life.

Maexcite! Matuwa! Matuto : A Party Pilipinas FUN Workshop

Isa na ito sa mga most memorable experiences ko sa buhay. I never imagined of being a singer, pero ilang beses na akong sumali sa choir at never pang natry magsolo kahit sa isang videoke bar. Anyways, nagset si Direk Rico Gutierrez (ng Party Pilipinas) ng isang FUN workshop para sa mga Party Pilipinas fans na gustong lalong mahasa ang kanilang talento sa pagsayaw, pagkanta at sa hosting.

Syempre nagpost naman ako sa New OpinionAided (Facebook) na intereasado akong sumali since wala naman akong ginagawa at saka for experience na rin. Una kasing pumasok sa utak ko, picture taking with the stars specially, La Diva ang magtuturo for the voice workshop.

As early as12:30pm ay nasa GMA7 na with some of the participants. Syempre excited pero habang lumalapit ang oras ng workshop, grabeng kaba ang naramdaman ko. Kasi kahit madalas akong kasama ng choir kumanta, iba pa rin kasi kapag solo.

Noong nagstart na naman ang workshop ay hindi na ako kinabahan kasi very friendly ang mga tao sa loob. Idagdag pa natin ang La Diva na napakabait at very accomodating sa mga participants. Hindi ka mahihiyang lapitan sila kasi napaka approacheable.

Kumanta muna ang La Diva ng "Angels Brought Me Here" bago nagstart ang workshop. Iba't ibang mga tips at mga karanasan nila tungkol sa pagkanta ang ibinahagi nila sa mga participants. After nun ay nahati kami sa 3 grupo at ang mga nagstand out doon ang kinuha para sa Dec. 26 episode ng Party Pilipinas ilalabas. Hindi ako kasama pero masaya na ako sa bonding with La Diva especially Jonalyn Viray kasi siya ang naging voice coach ng group namin.

Natutuwa naman ako kasi sa group 3 ako kung saan si Jonalyn Viray ang coach namin. Soprano group kami kaya medyo mahirap pero nakakatuwa na naaabot naman namin ang nota ng kinakanta namin. Iba na rin talaga kapag may nagtuturo.

Sila ang tatlong napili na magperform sa December 26 episode ng Party Pilipinas. Congratulations guys and goodluck!

Isang masayang salu-salo after naman ng workshop. Sinamahan pa kami sa pagkain ng La Diva. Sobrang saya kasi sobrang bait nila kaya for sure mamahalin mo silang tatlo sa La Diva.

It's my Birthday!

Nakadalawang countdown posts ako before my birthday. 'Yung una ay ang 7 days before my birthday at 'yung sumunod ay ang 2 days before my birthday.

And today, birthday ko na.... No excitement, no happiness! Just NR (No reaction). I want to make this day sa regular day. I still need to be thankful at least buhay pa ako and that's it. This isn't special anymore. 'Yun lang!

I thought, something will happen yesterday pero nawala lahat ng hopes ko. Hindi dapat ako nag-eexpect kasi alam ko sa sarili ko na wala nang mangyayari. I just need to accept that plans change and people change.

2 Days Before my Birthday : My Birthday Wish!

2 days na lang birthday ko na! Excited? Pwedeng OO, pwede ring HINDI. Almost every birthday ko naman ay talagang senti ako at very emotional. Last year na birthday ko at saka ngayon ang isa sa mga pinakadepressing. I don't know...

For almost 23 years of my existence here on earth and since nagkamalay ako at nagkagusto sa mga materyal na bagay, nahumaling ako sa iba sa kanila.

Ilan sa mga wish ko:

LOVEBIRDS - Bago mamatay ay Daddy ko ay marami akong pares ng lovebirds na alaga sa Mindoro pero since nawala na siya ay naubos na rin ang mga alaga ko.

Any DSLR camera since I love taking photos. Masaya na ako kasi may libangan na ako.

iPhone4 para naman magkaroon ako ng new phone. Mahilig kasi akong magtext at mag-internet sa phone. Hehe!

iPad , syempre kungmay iPhone, may iPad rin! Since wala na akong laptop, at para hindi na rin ako manghiram pa sa Mommy ko ng laptop niya.

AROUND THE WORLD TOUR , kung pwede nga lang sana, why not!? Haha! Kahit saan naman ako pwede, basta masabing nakarating ng ibang bansa. Kakatuwa na 'yun!

LOVELIFE , anyone pwedeng makasama habangbuhay? Haha! Simple lang naman ako at cheerful! For sure, mapupuno ng hangin ang bituka mo sa katatawa.

Hindi naman ako masyadong materialistic. Simple lang regalo at greeting, masaya na ako! Mababaw rin naman kasi ang kaligayahan ko. Katunayan nga niyan, ilang friends ko ang inobliga ko na gumawa ng banner greeting sa akin. Just for fun lang, para maging masaya na ako.

These are just wishes. Kung hindi matupad, e 'di okey! Pero kung matupad... E 'di very good! I'll still be happy kasi kahit papaano ay buhay pa ako kahit na mahirap ang buhay at talagang nakakadepress ang mga nangyayari sa akin ngayon.

Mukha ba akong excited? Not really....

Ilang taon na ako? Secret... Bale, magpaPasko raw noon at kakatapos lang ng Martial Law nung ipinanganak ako... Ang taba-taba ko raw nung ipinanganak ako at ang cute-cute ko... Sana hanggang 'dun na lang ako... :'(

Noong bata pa ako, excited na excited ako kapag nalalapit na ang birthday ko. Kasi magkakaroon na naman ako ng bagong gamit at iba pang regalo. Hanggang sa tumuntong ako ng college at after graduation... Unti-unti ko nang kaayawan ang pagdating ng birthday ko... Nakakadepressed :'(

Ahemm... 23 na pala!

Any plans for my birthday? Ah-uh! Wala na akong plano, baka madepress lang ako. Gusto ko lang mapag-isa for my birthday. Magsisimba tapos magmumukmok.

Any wishes? Not for me... Just for my Mom. Na maging masaya ang Mommy ko. In almost a month na nasa Mindoro ako with her, almost everyday akong umiiyak... Because kitang-kita ko na nahihirapan na Mommy ko sa pagtatrabaho but she keeps on working for the two of us pati na rin sa kasama namin sa bahay na isang mangyan.

I thought, 2010 will be a great year for me and my family... I was wrong... It's the worst for I have faced the biggest trials in my life this year. I am just hoping that the next year of my life will be better for me and my Mom and my brother. They are the two most important person in life. Nothing more, nothing less...

Trying to have "A New Beginning"

The PAIN or the PERSON?

Ilang beses na akong nagstart sa lahat ng pagkakadapa ko! Ilang beses na rin kasi akong nadapa sa pareparehas na pangyayari. Hayz! 'Di na kasi nagtanda! Pero this time, mas malalim... At sinabi ko sa sarili ko, na "I'll never cross that line again".

Umaamin naman ako kapag nagkamali ako. I know how to say sorry when it is really necessary... But for now, hindi ko gagawin 'yun. I know na wala akong ginawang masama and they judged me already after all... Para saan pa? Right?!

I just need to move on. Move on from those stupid mistakes that I have done. Sigh!

Having mistakes doesn't mean that you're a bad person... It's part of your life. You don't have to focus on the wrong things that you've done because what's important is.... You've realized what is right!And I am right... Hindi ako nanakit at nagsabi ng masama tungkol sa kanila. They're in group, mag-isa lang ako. But the hell I care...

Sad na malapit na birthday ko :'( Mas lalong sad kasi magpaPasko... But it's okey... I totally erased them to my life. None of them will hurt me again kasi tinanggal ko na sila sa sirkulasyon ko. I allowed them to enter my life before... but I was wrong to let them in. May mga bagay kasi sa mundong ito na kahit anong gawin mo, they will always judge you and make you feel you're the worse.

And now... "A New Begining" na naman! Okey lang naman. At least, I still have the chance to start a new. Nakakapagod pero ganun talaga.

Just like 'yung mga alaga kong manok dito sa Mindoro. Parang kelan lang nang dumating ako rito at bago pa lang nangingitlog ang alaga kong manok at ngayon, inabutan pa ako ng pagpisa ng itlog dito. Haha! Nakakatuwa kasi parang mas excited pa ako sa inahing manok na makita ang mga sisiw since napanood ko ang pagpisa ng itlog na wala 'yung inahing manok.

Last November 1, dumalaw ako sa sementeryo... Hinintay ko muna na halos mawala ang mga tao and try asking my Dad (almost 1 1/2 years ng patay) about sa mga nangyayari sa akin. It's so hard to accept 'yung pagkamatay niya since ang dami niyang plans for me and ang dami naming plans ng Mommy ko for my Daddy. None of those ang nangyari kasi namatay siya bago ako grumaduate.

And now... Wala na siya, it's hard to plan again... Since those plans ko before ay parang wala nang saysay. Honestly, I don't know kung bakit buhay pa ako. I always have questions in my life ngayon... 'Coz I am always thinking that I am a total failure. The only reason for me to stay here in this world is my Mom. Para sa kanya na lang kaya ako nabubuhay. I just want to make my Mom happy... and that's it. No plans for myself na.

My life is a failure. Sa process ng DABDA, nasa 1st A pa rin ako... ANGER! Pero kahit slow, I am still thinking na magmove forward to it. Hayz :'(

God, please help me... I am so much in anger.. I can't feel the pain. I am so numb...
